3 Lazy Workers in an Office with a Sea View 🌊 Once, I moved to a city by the sea and brought part of my team with me. Three people who were involved in international trade moved with me, while the employees working in the local market stayed at the previous office. We rented an office in the newest office center with a sea view. All the conditions were perfect for effective work. However, these three employees started telling me every day that there was no market today, and we couldn't sell. But they said, “You moved us here, so pay us our salary.” I simply didn't want to come to the office. The atmosphere of laziness and inaction was unbearable. It really infected us with thoughts about the uselessness of our work. I let them go. Today, my team is doing unique things. They are constantly seeking new opportunities, always in touch with partners, and find solutions in any situation. They motivate me to work, not the other way around. Each employee is like a nugget of gold, mined from a gold field. ❓ Would you be interested if I host a webinar on team building? Where I’ll share my journey of building a team. Your reader is probably very keen to find out how to boost team cohesion. But if you asked them, they wouldn't say that. They'd probably say something like: "Can you FEEL that passive aggression between Stanley and Dwight?" Or simply make eyes at their work bestie the next time one of their teammates slips up because of a miscommunication. Here's the thing: As your reader shuts off their computer and rolls away from their desk, they aren't having shower thoughts about using Likert scales for their next employee survey. They're thinking about how they're going to get through their workload before their PTO. How they're going to fare at their next appraisal. They're hoping to get home from work without stress-snapping at their partner, kids, or pets. They're real people, not an aggregation of stereotypes. Get in their heads.
