In today’s market, applying online alone—even with personalization—just doesn’t cut it anymore. Hundreds of applicants hit the system within hours of a job posting. And here’s the hard truth: most applications don’t even get reviewed. If you’re not seeing results, it’s likely because your strategy needs to shift—not only because the odds are stacked against you. When companies look to hire, they don’t start with online postings. Here’s how it really works: 1️⃣ They first look at their pre-existing candidate pool from past interviews, coffee chats, and referrals. 2️⃣ Next, they rely on headhunters and recruiters to create a shortlist of 5-10 candidates. 3️⃣ Only after exhausting these options will they post the job online—and even then, applications are often processed in batches, which means your chances of being reviewed are low. And if your application does make it through? ATS filters may still screen you out—even if you’re qualified. So, if you’re putting all your energy into personalizing applications while neglecting networking, you’re focusing on the wrong thing. Personalization might feel productive, but without a referral, you’re missing the most critical advantage and putting all that energy and effort to waste. Want to learn how to get the right people to help you out? Reach out, and I’ll guide you through the strategies and messaging that actually get results. *Btw only 2 out of these 4 screenshots did I have an actual call with. With the right strategy and messaging you don’t even need to bother with those “coffee chats”👀 #JobSearch #Referrals #Networking #CareerTips #JobHunting #2024Jobs

🌟 Seeking Insights on Today’s Job Market from Recruiters🌟 As a job seeker navigating this unprecedented job market, I’ve encountered challenges that feel unique compared to past experiences. Many of us are grappling with uncertainty, shifting hiring practices, and evolving employer expectations. In my journey, I’ve realized the importance of gathering tangible data to better understand the landscape. I often receive questions from fellow job seekers, and while I strive to provide guidance, I believe that insights from recruiters can offer invaluable clarity, especially given the prevalence of false information circulating in the job market. To that end, I’ve created a feedback form to capture your experiences and observations regarding the current job market. I’m seeking input from both internal company recruiters and agency recruiters to gain a comprehensive perspective. Your insights will not only help me but also assist other job seekers in navigating this landscape with greater awareness. If you’re a recruiter, I would greatly appreciate your insights on the challenges you’re witnessing and the trends you’re observing. Please feel free to share this form with others in your network who may be willing to contribute. The link to the feedback form is: https://lnkd.in/gz2AXhVM. If you're not a recruiter, I would love for you to make the recruiters you know aware of this form. The more data points, the better (I am a Product Manager after all)! Together, we can create a clearer picture of today’s job market and empower job seekers with the knowledge they need to succeed! I'll post my consolidated findings at the end of the month! Thank you for your support! 🙏 #JobMarket #JobSearch #Recruitment #JobSeekers #CareerAdvice #Feedback #Networking #DataCollection P.S. If this is well received, I'll put together another survey for hiring managers.
