What will SEO look like in 2025 2024 has seen many changes for SEO and with the recent DOJ ruling on Google, then we can expect more changes to come. Of course we don’t have a crystal ball and predicting SEO changes has always been a bit of a dark art. But the aim for Google has always been to provide the right results for the end user in their search and with that in mind, the E-E-A-T framework remains currently, the best way to get your content ranked. Your content needs to show: Experience & Expertise – AI is playing a more pivotal role in helping Google assess content. AI can determine if the content has been created with genuine expertise and experience so it’s important to focus on content that has been well-researched, insightful and is valuable to your audience. Authority – (Is Authoritativeness even a word??) By regularly updating your website content, removing outdated content, removing low quality backlinks and building high quality links, you are showing Google your authority. Trustworthiness – So important in SEO is Trust. By providing accurate and reliable information, you build trust with your audience and thus with the search engines. Make sure you fact check and add any accreditations and citations. Whatever happens with Google in 2025, it will open the field for other search engines and I predict that E-E-A-T will be more important than ever. "Is SEO dead?" has remained one of the top Google searches for nearly a year now. I recently read a post on Medium by Ann Smarty that raised my spirits a bit. Here are a few takeaways, along with some additional insights: 🥗 Staying optimized requires staying "fresh." Reliable posts that may have driven steady traffic for years are likely to see a decline as Google prioritizes new, up-to-date content. 🔀 The landscape of SEO is evolving, not diminishing. With voice search, AI, and evolving algorithms, SEO is changing to incorporate these new channels rather than disappearing. 💻 SEO is merging with broader content and digital marketing strategies. It's no longer just about keywords and backlinks.
