The amount of cancer patients seen by me in opd today at government hospital in Mumbai India 🇮🇳. 140 pts . I am doing this for free of cost ,( I don't take any honorarium for this ) , twice a week , for last 11 years (since March 2013 ) All get free cancer treatment With first line and second line chemotherapy . Some do get targeted drugs like trastuzumab and bevacizumab for free. This is positive impact of government schemes Iike Ayushman Bharat and MPAJY @PMOIndia @Dev_Fadnavis All these are very poor patients . We can not give state of the art care but With what ever we can give , some of them do get cured and lot of them have good disease control. This is my small contribution to the society from which I come and became medical oncologist. I am sure lots of oncologist are doing much more impacful work than this. And I appreciate and admire all of them . If all of us decide to give something back to society, in which ever manner , small or big , probably we can make a difference 🙂. Let's continue to inspire and get inspired.
We require a lot more support for free anti- cancer medications from the government.. Every life saving medication is priced beyond common person... Unfortunately they are the ones who get affected the most... It's sad that cancer is on the rise.... what are we giving to the younger generations? More morbidity more mortality lower quality of life and lower life expectancy..
Dr Amol, your dedication to serving cancer patients is truly inspiring. The sheer number—140 patients in a single day—reflects not only the magnitude of the need but also your unwavering commitment to the well-being of the underserved. Your work exemplifies compassion and a deep sense of responsibility to give back to society. Thank you for being a beacon of hope for so many and for inspiring others in the medical community to give back in whatever way they can. It is efforts like yours that remind us of the profound difference one person can make. 👍
Hi Dr. Amol, It’s impressive and great clinical support to the pts. I also brought several phase 3 clinical trials in India as one of the global countries. That way a handful of eligible pts for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies pts were benefited. In the past I brought trastuzumab by clinical trial in India for HER2+ MBC pts. Let’s speak together. Thanks. Hi Dr. Amol Akhade—work like yours inspires us every day to continue to work on Cancer Research and Cancer Care with the same passion we started this organisation back in 2018. We will continue to celebrate and amplify such stories of compassion and purpose !
Everyone has the opportunity but you have gone out of your way to reach out to as many as possible, in whatever way possible. The ideal is not possible always, but whatever you are doing is wonderful. You are what an oncologist should be!!More power to you!!
You are a true inspiration and beacon of hope for us Sir. I know it as caregiver of a terminal cancer parent, the impact that you are creating is above and beyond for our society.
Your humility and gratitude are truly inspiring. Even small contributions, like yours, can create a ripple effect and motivate others to give back in their own way. By encouraging collective efforts, you’re helping to build a more compassionate and impactful society—keep making a difference!
Appreciate your contribution to the society🙏 hoping this inspires more people to consider community service not just as an imposed internship but as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients lives!
Your dedication and selflessness are truly inspiring! The impact of providing free cancer care, especially for those in need, cannot be emphasized enough. Hopefully, state-of-the-art treatment will soon become as accessible and affordable as other therapies.
