Yes good Company until you retire, then they become the Worst company you have ever worked for. NO pension cost of living rises for the last TEN YEARS . The CEO gets huge bonuses and pay rises and the company boasts record profits. But poor UK retirees who put the company where it is today are completely ignored, their static pensions losing value in today’s economy. That’s not the sign of a good company and certainly doesn’t live by its own blue box values .
Until you retire in the UK, then you no longer matter to them and they wont increase parts of your pension, discretionary to them, but not happened since 2014, no increase at all not even partial. This means ex employees pensions reduce and reduce over time not keeping up with inflation, and they don't care at all. Thousands of ex employees affected and blue box values thrown out if the window. Disgraceful behaviour from a supposed caring blue chip company. 26 years I gave them.
Given this achievement - maybe it’s time to unfreeze the pension payments to American Express Pensioners - 10 years frozen despite major cost of living crisis and inflation and despite American Express congratulating itself it still treats its loyal pensioners who built the foundations of this success with contempt - time to pay decent pensions to decent people!
But they are still stitching up their British pensioners by refusing to raise their pensions in line with inflation. Disgraceful behaviour by the current management and a slap in the face for those of us who built the brand back in the day
Great news Amex but how about reviewing the fact that a number of UK Amex pensioners have not had an increase in 10 years? Doesn’t quite stack up with all these awards really. Probably because it’s only once you’ve served your purpose to them, and left after many years service, do you realise they have forgotten you. Shame on them!!
I spent 39 great years with Amex. Great leadership with the right person being in place at the right time at critical moments. The Blue Box Values are/were lived by all. It is a puzzle to me that the pension situation in the UK has not garnered attention by the CEO. This has attracted negative press and political comment in the UK.
It all sounds so good, until you learn about the UK pension situation. How can a company that does so much right still look the other way on this issue. Your former employees who helped make the brand in the UK what it is today are being treated abysmally. No pension increases in 10 years. Meanwhile inflation has significantly eroded their retirement benefits. Come on Amex - it’s time to do the right thing. That’s the DNA of your company and it is what made you great. Sometimes it’s about more than just the bottom line.
No longer the case. We barely can go to the restroom.
Congratulations 👏👏👏
