BIG DAY: GPHC RESULT DAY. Did you get your results today and it didn’t go as planned? This was me July 2023. I failed the Gphc exam with one mark in Calculations. It felt like the world had ended and nothing could comfort me. I didn’t even know where to start again. I later passed in November 2023. Today I am reaching out to you to let you know that it’s never over. Here are my 10 tips to help you pass your next sitting: -Take a break from everything: I took a 2 weeks break from pharmacy entirely. I spent this period with my precious family and friends. -Stop working or go part time if you can: many people usually advise that it’s better to go per time rather than stopping. This is because you will still learn some things while you go in. You will also interact with people, which helps with the healing process. -Register for courses: There are so many good courses out there, but I will always endorse the London Pharmacist Network (LPN) calculations and preregshortcuts clinical notes. These are very good. You can rest assured you will pass with just these two courses. -Making notes might not be necessary: this has worked for some people, but it didn’t work for me. Instead of making notes, you can have a photocopy of all your clinical notes and go through them. Also, print out some important tables then paste them around your space. -Make short notes from past papers and nice cks: Once you do a clinical past paper, ensure you do the correction and only write down bullet points of the answers in your jotter. Also, nice cks is a very good resource to fill your knowledge gap and summarise that information in your jotter as well. Don’t forget to read these notes in your free time. This is a lifesaver. Both 4 and 5 helped me achieve over 100 in clinical in both attempts -Never murmur under your breath: this may sound funny but avoid reading under your breath. -Reasonable adjustment: If only I knew I would have applied for this. I had a serious neck pain that required physiotherapy. If there is still time, please apply. (Contd in the comments)

How do you tackle the stress of facing an exam which costs more than a lakh, has 10 stations which you have to face back to back , and where time flies off faster than you can imagine? If you are preparing to face the upcoming MRCPCH Clinical Exams check out these 6 facts!! 1. Ensure you have had a good night keep before! This exam will test your focus, presence of mind and having a calm collected mind can make a lot of difference! 2. Always remember to address the patient and patients with their correct names. Forgetting the names is seen as rude and will cost you a few precious points. 3.Remember to focus on the task as mentioned in the station, Too many students in the communication or history station forget to complete the task they have been assigned to! 4. In Communication and History stations refine the art of summarising essential positive and negative points. 5. In clinical stations never miss mentioning relevant objects like presence of splints , wheelchair, sputum pot, pulse oximetry, inhalers, flowmeters and so on. 6. Timing is everything! Like every good story or movie your presentation of history, clinical findings should have a proper structure.. An introduction an body and a conclusion which you should be able complete on time!!! PLAB I Study Plan , shared by a kind doctor, who recently passed his exam. Thanks dear for your efforts and best of luck for Plab 2. **Three-Month Plan:** - Complete PLAB Keys at least twice. Print them out for highlighting key points. - Focus on high-yield systems, as PLAB emphasizes these heavily. *My style* - Study Cardiology Keys and then practice Cardiology-related questions in Plabable. Mark wrong questions Review them and associated concepts And then move forward in the same way Last *20 days* for revision. **Two-Month Plan:** 1. **First Priority - Plabable:** - Start with Plabable practice questions right away. - Focus on PLAB Keys for high-yield systems first, and then move to other areas if time permits. 2. **In correct answer** - If you get a question wrong, read the revision guide in the Plabable app, mark it, and cross-reference it with PLAB Keys or other preferred resources. - Some prefer using Plab Gems. While I didn’t use it personally, you can download it and see if it suits you. 3. **Concept Building:** - The main focus should always be on understanding concepts thoroughly. - Make a list of high-yield topics for the last 10-15 days to review questions, revision guides, and difficult-to-remember points. Best of luck Remember me in your prayers ❤️

For our September membership spotlight, we are thrilled to introduce you to Randall Andres. Randall is currently a P3 at CNUCOP, one our student representatives, and CNU's APhA-ASP co-president. Please see his answers to some questions below to learn more about him. 1. How long have you been a member of CPhA/SVPhA? • This is my 3rd year as a member of CPhA/SVPhA. 2. How do you define success? • I define success as doing the best that one can do and growing from it. 3. What do you enjoy most about pharmacy? • I enjoy being able to help patients live healthier lives, whether through the teaching opportunities provided during patient counseling, or in the conversations about the importance of their maintenance medications when speaking to them about adherence. 4. What can you not live without? • I cannot live without the love and support of my family. With the stresses of pharmacy school and work, it would be hard to imagine how I could handle it without my wife to help support and encourage me to push forward, and my son to motivate me to be better for their sake. 5. Why did you originally pursue pharmacy? • I joined pharmacy as a means to understand medicine better and help my parents and grandparents to use medications more safely. Coming from a family without much medical understanding, but requiring multiple maintenance medications, I wanted to be a better resource for them and others like them. 6. What do you like to do on your spare time? • I like to spend time with my 6-month-old son and my wife either at home or travelling.

CME/CPD Credits for ICAM 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal, 3-5 October 2024 Dr. Rui Pombal, President of the Organizing Committee - ICAM 2024, has advised attendees that they may claim “17.5 credited hours from UEMS [EACCME], as well 10 credit hours for AMEs from the Portugal CAA. The latter typically applies across EASA through direct equivalence given by all the other CAAs. Including potential pre- or post-congress technical visits, this figure can go up to a total of 14 credited hours.” For attendees needing ACCME CME accreditation, Jeff Sventek states that “To convert EACCME credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, physicians can: - Go to the AMA website at https://lnkd.in/gz_pgs2K to get the necessary paperwork and instructions - Submit an online application that includes: - A copy of the EACCME credit certificate - A nonrefundable processing fee - Ensure the activity was certified for EACCME credit on the EACCME website (see https://lnkd.in/g4iFpe5s) A separate application and processing fee is required for each activity submitted. EACCME credits are recognized in most European countries, the USA, and Canada. When an EACCME certificate is submitted to the National Accreditation Authority, the credits are automatically recognized and converted into national credits.”
