The current geopolitical implications for the region, along with energy spikes and increasing food prices, are driving the world into a multi-faceted crisis. Mankind is sailing through troubled and uncharted waters. Adding to the aforementioned challenges, there are also concerns about new refugee flows owing to the current conflicts and Europe’s security architecture. Reinforcing Europe’s unity and solidarity in the midst of this turmoil is ongoing. Governments, institutions and civil society should cooperate more closely with key stakeholders in order to mitigate the current crisis, underpin social cohesion and achieve stability and recovery for Europe. Against this setting, Romania has a strategic role to play as the country emerges as a key player for Europe’s collective security and NATO’s strategy with regards to Ukraine’s war with Russia. On the business front, Romania’s recent achievements in attracting strategic foreign investments and promoting innovation can serve as a role model and a positive narrative for other central and eastern European countries. During the 8th Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in #Bucharest, the capital of Romania 🇷🇴 (September 6–7, 2023), Greece 🇬🇷 joined the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) 🌊. Thus, the Hellenic Republic became the 13th member of this regional format in Central and Southeastern Europe. Greece's joining the Three Seas Initiative changed the internal environment of 3SI. Therefore, due to this extension, the 3SI region has a chance to implement a larger number of joint projects 🇦🇹🇧🇬🇭🇷🇨🇿🇪🇪🇬🇷🇭🇺🇱🇹🇱🇻🇵🇱🇷🇴🇸🇰🇸🇮 Moreover, the area now has a much larger external neighbourhood, especially to the Western Balkans 🇦🇱🇲🇰 and Turkey 🇹🇷. It also gained direct proximity to the Mediterranean, Ionian and Aegean Seas. Russian minister calls to replicate globalist supranational technocratic European Union (EU) in Eurasia as Eurasian Union (EU). "Let's start from the very beginning: what is the Eurasian Economic Union? What is the point of this organization? As an organization, the EAEU was created for the economic integration of the post-Soviet space through the implementation of four freedoms - freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor. That is, we are primarily talking about creating common markets and barrier-free access to the market of any EAEU member state. In the modern world - whether we want it or not - not a single national state can do without international contacts, without intensive interaction with others. This applies to all countries - both large and small. This is simply the key to survival. Therefore, the question is not whether to integrate or not, but only with whom to integrate and on what basis. If we look at the whole world, we will notice that all regions are uniting economically - the United States is interacting more and more closely with Mexico, Canada and the Asia-Pacific region. The European Union has united all European countries and is trying to continue moving to the East. China is creating its own integration zone along the One Road - One Belt project. Africa unites. Emmanuel Macron starts his three-day state visit to Morocco today—the first since 2018 and a series of unfortunate events that led to a long period of "mésentente" which ended with the French president's letter in July endorsing the Kingdom's autonomy and advanced regionalization plan for Western Sahara. Morocco, France, and the world have drastically morphed since. It nevertheless, remains a highly symbolic moment as the two allies try to reconnect and leave their differences behind. It is extremely important for transatlantic allies, notably France, the US, and Spain, to actively work with Morocco to counter Iranian and Russia's malign influence in North Africa and the Sahel, as these new players attempt to create another proxy at the doors of Europe in collaboration with Polisario militants. This visit is also a tremendous business opportunity for French companies receding from West Africa and the Sahel to regain a seat at the table ahead of major projects like the 2030 World Cup, the Dakhla Harbor, The Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline, Tropic Seamount rare minerals, Green Hydrogen, and the Atlantic Initiative. There are also rumors about France opening the first European Union country consulate in Laayoun in Moroccan-administered Western Sahara next month for the anniversary of the Green March and French companies creating a new industrial zone in Laguira on the borders with Mauritania—two highly impactful projects that would come to reaffirm Paris's stance recognizing Rabat's sovereignty over the disputed territory.

🗨 Greece holds a multifaceted significance in today's geopolitical landscape. Beyond the challenges it faces, there's a narrative of resilience and potential that warrants attention. On one hand, Greece grapples with the harsh realities of climate change and regional tensions fueled by the "Blue Homeland" strategy. Yet, amidst these challenges, Greece is also on a path of recovery from the economic downturn of 2008. 💡 But what truly intrigues me is Greece's evolving role as a pivotal point in the Eastern Mediterranean and the broader EU. The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) initiative, presents an opportunity to connect three crucial regions: the EU, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific. In a recent Policy Brief by the Progresivní Analytické Centrum, I focused on the potential of this cooperation: 🔍 Exploring how Greece can emerge as an economic linchpin for the EU. 🤝 Unpacking the rationale behind Greek-Indian collaboration. 🌐 Analyzing the implications of the IMEC initiative on EU diplomacy and regional integration. 👉 Greece's strategic positioning offers a gateway to new economic possibilities and diplomatic avenues. ❓ But some questions emerge after all: how about China's BRI initiative? Sober discussion on the realities of Europe's strategic resilience at this Ifri - Institut français des relations internationales event this morning. Among calls for Europe to be unrelenting in its support for Ukraine, was an interesting discussion about the importance of Europe being able to deliver on its promised vision of the future. Arancha Gonzalez Laya articulated this particularly well, framed this promise both as being to its neighbours in terms of enlargement and to its own population in terms of providing shared prosperity and freedoms. Europe has to be able to offer an attractive and credible vision for the future that can compete that of its adversaries, in order to ensure its long-term resilience. #europe #resilience

This is stated in the results of the Online Services Index, an international study of the E-Government Development Index, which evaluates 193 countries of the world and is developed by the United Nations. Digitalization has completely transformed the interaction between man and the state.
