4 years ago I quit my job to pursue my self-employed dream. “It’s too risky.” “What if it doesn’t work?” “Do you have a plan B?” When I told my parents I was quitting my “safe” marketing job to start my own business in the middle of a global pandemic, they stared at me like I’d just declared I was moving to Mars. - I had a small social following. - No agency experience. - And absolutely NO idea what I was doing. Today, we have; - A community of over 300k people. - Generated $4mill in business revenue. - One of the most mature and experienced personal branding businesses in the UK. - Work with some of the most influential and recognised thought leaders globally. - A business and a culture that is truly a joy to be a part of. Betting on yourself is terrifying. But staying where you don’t belong? That’s even scarier. So, to the freelancers, founders, consultants, and dreamers out there: If you’re doubting yourself today, this is your sign. Keep going. You’re not crazy—you’re brave. I started freelancing in 2021. — No guidance. — No money. — No laptop. I just started by watching videos. 4 years later, this is where I stand: 📌 Made lots of money. 📌 Getting commissions. 📌 Living my comfortable life. 📌 Bought my first iPhone. 📌 Not glued to my laptop. 📌 Work with clients who align with my vision. 📌 Sponsored my sister’s education. 📌 Paid off loans. 📌 Updated to 8th generation. 📌 Set and decorated our home from scratch—literally, from paint to furniture and mattresses. 📌 Paid my university fees. 📌 Monetized my Medium account. 📌 Interviewed X3. Now I just enjoy my latte, hot pot, dumplings, and watch movies with my cat. — Life is exactly your vision. Live that way!!

My inspiration forever 🤍
I completely get it. The fear of stepping away from the "safe" option is real, especially when everyone around you questions your decision. But looking back, the scariest part wasn’t taking the leap - it was staying in a place where I didn’t feel like I was growing. It’s tough, but it’s also rewarding. Every step of the way, I learned more about what I could do, even when it didn’t feel like I had it all figured out. If you’re in that place of doubt, remember: taking that first step is often the hardest, but it’s the one that leads to everything else.
This is the reason you will never be successful. (Sorry, it might hurt your ego) You’re too busy with comparison. It’s a trap that keeps you from winning in life. Someone got a viral post? Why can’t I? Someone freelancing while travelling? I want that! Someone’s bragging about a six-figure income. me too! Maybe you’re comparing their 100th day with your 1st. But we often overlook the most crucial aspect. You will end up becoming ‘someone’ else. So, stop comparing and start living. Be happy with what you have. Embrace your story.

It takes guts to bet on yourself, especially when the world says it's too risky.
Being self-employed, I can create my own schedule, work environment, and projects. I can also choose the people I work with. Well said Amelia Sordell 🔥
