Welcome to NuNet! Together with our community, we’re building an open-source, chain-agnostic decentralized computing and orchestration platform. But what does that actually mean? Let’s break it down.👇 #DecentralizedComputing #NuNet 💻 First, what is decentralized computing? Traditionally, you’d rely on a central server or data center for computing resources. With decentralized computing, resources are shared across many devices—laptops, servers, and even smart gadgets—around the world. 🔄 Think of decentralized computing like Uber. Just as Uber connects drivers with riders, decentralized computing connects people needing computing power with those who have some to share. It’s all about a flexible, shared network of resources! Next up, orchestration. 🧩 In computing, orchestration is the way we manage these resources—ensuring devices work smoothly together, like assigning tasks to the right devices at the right time. 👨🍳 A good analogy for orchestration? Think of a busy kitchen! The chef (orchestrator) assigns each task—chopping, cooking, plating—to the right person. In a decentralized network, orchestration helps each job find the best available computing power for efficient results So, at NuNet, we’re building a platform where computing power can be accessed, shared, and organized securely and efficiently—all without a central provider. My view is that the Xbox Mobile App Store could emerge as a strong competitor to both Play Store and App Store, leveraging Xbox's gaming ecosystem, exclusive content, and cloud gaming capabilities. Its success hinges on developer adoption, user base expansion, and seamless cross-platform integration. By offering competitive policies and unique offerings, it might drive innovation and consumer choice in the app market. However, it faces challenges like regulatory scrutiny and the need to avoid issues that have plagued other major app stores.
We ask leading industry experts for their thoughts on Microsoft's upcoming marketplace that aims to compete with Apple and Google. https://lnkd.in/gkEaYZYJ Pasqual Batalla 🎮 from Sandsoft | Klaas Kersting from Phoenix Games | acquiring and enhancing game studios | Jen Donahoe from JadeInferno Consulting | Ealing Ng from Aptoide | Christian Lövstedt from Midjiwan AB - Polytopia | Justin Welter from Stardust | Teemu Haila from Metaplay | Yassine Tahi from Kinetix | Ben Cousens from ZBD Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

A real challenge today is something I call the “seated premium”. It used to be that TS cost more than S, and S cost more than uncleared. But it used to be that remote and hybrid were RARE. So in terms of convincing someone to take a position in a SCIF or not was kinda trivial, everyone had to go in, so what’s the difference between a seat behind the door or not. Well, now we have seated, hybrid, and total remote, but classified work still has to be done in secure facility, in a seat. So, if you have a position that requires seated, the premiums are going kinda high, because a person can work from home full time for a little less money, why would they go in? Unless they’re paid a lot more. Why is this a problem? Recompetes. All the services contracts that were awarded before COVID are coming up for rebid shortly, so how do you do price to win when real prices have gone up 20-30%?
Tech companies think they have it bad, try playing the services game…

Accessibility in video games isn’t just for those with disabilities; it enhances the experience for all players. From customizable controls and adaptive controllers to subtitles and colorblind modes, modern games like The Last of Us Part II and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey set the gold standard. These features make gaming more intuitive and enjoyable, ensuring everyone can play their way. Next time you game, explore the settings—you might find something that makes your experience even better! #Gaming #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #GameDevelopment https://lnkd.in/ejB8kr2d

8moA very insightful piece Andrew McAfee. I think where the "prestige game" can fall down in practice is where the wrong people achieve prestige via false information and their status breaks the virtuous cycle of learning and cooperation. But innovations this good (as you say) are certainly worth fighting for!
