If you're wondering how to intentionally build (or rebuild) communication within an organisation – whether your people are working flexibly, from anywhere, or on site – Tiger de Souza MBE shares some valuable insights on this crucial topic for HR leaders.
Business leaders must adopt "a 'listen, hear, respond' mindset and culture, and create a range of different ways for people to give you feedback," he reminds us.
Two further takeaways:
1) Try different things: "The majority of things we're trying at Samaritans were suggested by our staff team," Tiger explains.
2) Beware of the usual suspects: when seeking feedback from people within an organisation, leaders can find themselves going to the same people: the loudest or the most confident in sharing their views. "In a hybrid world, there's more of a risk of going to the usual suspects," says Tiger. "We need to be more mindful of that."
