Automation (both digital and physical) will be a central theme next week at #Manifest (more below and here https://lnkd.in/g_ZVE3mg) and I'm excited to meet with the many robotics companies in attendance. As well as taking in the cool new tech I will also be curious to dig into this question..."how far can and should we go with automation this year and next?". How robotics integrates with the human and digital ecosystem that surrounds it is critical to success and the idea of a 'dark warehouse' (more here: https://lnkd.in/gjSw_uMn) is not only tough to achieve but how much of a priority is it? Integration is also the theme of one of the 16 Manifest sessions on automation technology when Lisa Chai of Interwoven Ventures, Gina Chung of Locus Robotics, James X. Matthews of Ocado Technology, Marc Theermann of Boston Dynamics and Pras Velagapudi of Agility Robotics will discuss 'Seamless Integration of Robotics and Warehouse Technologies'. Another question I'll have for these companies is how the infrastructure in warehouses is suited to the digital and power demands of robotics, particularly if mobile.
