Robotics isn’t a new field, and neither are the challenges of creating machines that behave like humans. However, it’s important to remind ourselves, and perhaps some VC investors, just how complex human beings really are. Before they think some start up founders can make robots just like human beings !
Our bodies are equipped with billions of sensors—spread across our skin to sense temperature, pressure, and beyond. This is in addition to our vision and auditory capabilities. On top of that, we have a highly efficient reasoning engine that adapts to unknown terrains, something even the most advanced AI models (like transformers) struggle with. And let’s not forget our incredible energy efficiency; for a robot to do the equivalent physical work of a human, it would need between 0.2-0.4kW of power.
These challenges make it clear: there’s still a long way to go in robotics. Instead of trying to fully replicate human capabilities, perhaps the focus should be on leveraging robots for specific, high-impact tasks where their limitations are less of an issue.
this is next-level stuff! Robotics and AI are reshaping the future of fulfillment. Can’t wait to see this in action!
