Qlife saves lives and i can speak from my lived experiences of unwellness when i have accessed this life saving service. QLife is an important organization that provides crucial support and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community in Australia. Support Services QLife offers anonymous and free peer support and referral services for LGBTQIA+ individuals, their families, and communities. This support is essential for those who may be facing discrimination, mental health challenges, or social isolation. Provides Crisis Intervention QLife's helpline provides immediate support for individuals in crisis, including those experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide. This service can save lives and provide much-needed support during difficult times. Safe and Inclusive Space QLife creates a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to seek help, ask questions, and connect with others who understand their experiences. This sense of community can be empowering and comforting for those who may feel marginalized or isolated. In summary Qlife was there for me when i found out i was adopted , affiming my gender and dealing with the trauma of feeing alone with a fractured identity. Do you need a hug... The reason I bring this up is that over the past couple of months, I've spoken to so many people from various organisations, and have been told about so many situations of people that are struggling, and sadly, much of it seems to stem from how they're treated by others at work, whether it's their line managers or colleagues or generally not a great culture. When asked, several said they don't say anything, as it is easier not too, so they continue having to deal with these things, and feel uncomfortable and unhappy. In a event yesterday, the majority of people that I met, had started up their own business, which is superb, however so many of them tell the same tale of leaving corporate, as they were so unhappy, mainly due to the 'Ego's and Arrogance' of others within the company and very sadly in a lot of cases the Leadership Team. Therefore I will be writing specifically about Ego's and Arrogance in another post, so keep a watching... This is completely not right and things have to change in our the world. We must work together to bring harmony to people lives, and ensure everyone has a safe and happy environment to work in. Throwing money is not the answer, it is not all about the benefits. Yes, they are a nice to have, however it is about a companies 'Culture', it's 'Values' and that those values are driven throughout the whole company, which brings you the right culture. So to all you people that are having these difficulties, remember your 'Inner Warrior', stand up for yourself, no-one has the right to make you feel bad. You are absolutely AMAZING.. Thoughts for the weekend: Charles Schultz, the creator of the “Peanuts” comic strip, was a very wise man. The following was his philosophy. Don’t try to answer these questions; just read them straight through: 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world. 2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners. 3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant. 4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize. 5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress. 6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners. How did you do? The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are not second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners. We can’t take money with us. Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one: 1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school. 2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. 3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile. 4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special. 5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with. Easier? Charles Schultz’s lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most🙂. Saying goodbye to the old to welcome the new has been a theme of late. Last week, I discussed with Client S the importance of shaking loose her old, stale “service provider” identity to make room for her new, fun “business coach” self. By failing to let go, she had been holding herself back. ⚠️She was attracting needy clients who were lacking commitment & draining her. ⚠️Plus, “old” services & programs were being delivered alongside the new, causing Ms S overwhelm & confusion. It was an internal tug of war. 😁She had tasted the success of the new, which tantalised her. There had been discovery of how easy & fun business could be. 😔But kept stepping back into the comfort of the known but disserving old. I could see it playing out but recognised the need for space. A proper farewell could only occur when the time was right. Often, the “right time” is preceded with the pain of experiencing the “last straw”. It was no different for S last week. She entered our conversation in a highly agitated state, following a sleepless night filled with worry. I sensed that the right time was then & there and delivered some difficult truths, from a place of service & understanding. I also reminded S that she'd mustered massive courage to leave her career to launch her business and advised that just half as much courage would move her beyond the business model that she’d outgrown. It was an emotional conversation, but a successful one. S had lifted a great weight - the air was electric with it. We parted with my client expressing gratitude for her relief, renewed happiness & a clear direction forward. What do you have to say goodbye to? And what will you welcome?
