Sustainable finance advocates! Want to be part of our gift exchange? Of course you do. Giving and receiving gifts is effectively in our blood. Gift exchange appears in the historical record as long as Homo sapiens do (one such gift was polished teeth). In our gift exchange, you'll get something much better than that... or at least we hope you feel that way. In 2025, we will be replacing our Things to learn and Actions to take library filters with one filter covering Sustainable finance practices. Our simplified filters will make it even easier to find what you're looking for in our sustainable finance library (Gift #1). What's even better is that by sharing your feedback on the new categories, you get the chance to win a book! (That's Gift #2, for those still with us). We're giving away 5 copies of both Kind Business by Dr David Cooke and How to build sustainability into your business strategy by Lee Stewart. A big thanks to these guys for sending these books our way! We of course, will get the gift of community feedback and knowledge (Gift #3 - and where the exchange comes in!) If you want to share your feedback but you're taking a break from reading and don't want to be involved in our #Competition, then we'll look forward to being the recipient of #SecretSanta! ⏪‼️⏩ Double Materiality. Study looked at “early” use of Double Materiality in non-financial reports and found “traces” of it... Let’s get to work!!! 😓 In order to achieve this aim, we carried out an exploratory analysis on the non-financial reports of 58 companies, both European and non-European, operating in various industries (period 2019–2021). The results reveal “traces” of DM in the reports of few companies, mainly European ones. #sustainability #sustainabilityreporting #esg #durabilité https://lnkd.in/ezxCHpnH

FINANCIAL LITERACY AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES. in commemoration of the financial literacy week, it is important that we look at what its implications are on sustainability. As we navigate complex environmental challenges and economic uncertainties, it's imperative that we recognize the pivotal role financial literacy plays in promoting sustainability. Financial Literacy Week reminds us not merely about understanding numbers and budgets; but also about empowering individuals and organizations to make informed decisions that not only benefit their bottom line but also contribute to a better planet and people. Financial literacy plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable practices in the following ways: 1. Informed Decision Making: Financial literacy empowers individuals and organizations to make informed decisions about their financial resources. When people understand the financial implications of their actions, they are more likely to choose sustainable options. For example, they may opt for energy-efficient appliances or invest in environmentally friendly businesses. 2. Cost Savings: Sustainable practices often lead to cost savings in the long term. Financially literate individuals can better understand the potential savings associated with actions such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and resource efficiency. This understanding encourages them to adopt sustainable practices not only for environmental reasons but also for financial benefits. 3. Investment Opportunities: Financial literacy enables individuals to recognize and take advantage of investment opportunities that align with sustainability goals. As sustainable investing gains momentum, financially literate individuals can allocate their resources toward environmentally responsible companies and projects, driving positive change in the economy. Furthermore, financial literacy equips individuals with the tools to advocate for sustainable policies. Whether it's supporting business pricing or incentivizing renewable energy adoption, understanding the economic rationale behind these policies enables effective advocacy. #financialliteracyweek #financialliteracy #sustainablefinance
