Last night, I had an insightful conversation with a client who's looking to expand his property investment portfolio. He’s already made two successful investments but now needs capital to scale further. Currently, he's working an entry-level job to maintain consistent cash flow while pursuing his vision. The challenge? He feels stuck. While he loves working with people, the job offers no growth or learning opportunities. He mentioned, "No one will pay for just being friendly with customers." However, his skills—customer service, risk management, and operations optimization—far exceed the role, which he took to focus on his property ambitions. Here’s the advice I gave him: We identified the key skills that make him stand out. I asked: - Would a company pay for risk management? *Yes.* - For operations optimization? *Yes.* - For customer service? *Yes.* I advised him to find a role in the investment industry where he can learn while getting paid—working alongside experts in property investment, build networks and gaining valuable insights into how the industry operates.
