Fantastic insights, James Cole. It's clear that business as usual isn't a viable option for a sustainable future. As we face mounting pressure from climate risks and economic uncertainty, innovative thinking and proactive strategies are more critical than ever. The focus on sustainable market opportunities aligns well with the increasing demand from stakeholders for real, measurable change. I see this echoed in the work we do at Auditel, supporting organisations on their net zero journey, where seizing these opportunities early can indeed be a key differentiator. Looking forward to the launch of the Sustainability Innovation Strategy course and seeing how it can further support businesses to pivot towards sustainable growth.
As leaders gather for #COP29, James Cole, our Chief Innovation Officer, reflects on whether we can innovate our way into a positive future for business and society. 👇 👇 👇 ⚠️"There are two major problems facing society and the economy: Firstly, our natural environment cannot provide or sustain resilience and prosperity for a global society of >9bn people (by 2037) using our present economic and consumption models (which don’t deliver for many anyway). Secondly, we don’t have clear opportunities and pathways for business growth beyond a very uncertain gamble on AI, which could have the reverse effect for many companies and workforces. 💡A more optimistic view is that we have some very clear meta challenges to inject purpose into our industrial strategies, investment and business growth and resilience plans. In 2017, the Business and Sustainable Development Commission identified sustainable market opportunities in just four economic systems (Food and Agriculture, Cities, Energy and Materials and Health and Wellbeing), worth an estimated US$12 trillion by 2030 in business savings and revenue opportunities (Better Business, Better World: https://ow.ly/4Nwh50U334b) and suggested first movers will have a 5 to 15 year advantage. 🗝️Where to start? Our new Sustainability Innovation Strategy #OnlineCourse launches next month and is a good place to begin developing a business innovation strategy that seeks to tap into these opportunities." 👉https://ow.ly/7IvF50U33B8 #COP29 #CISLCOP29 #COP29Baku

🌏🚚 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗢𝗣𝟮𝟵: “𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱, 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮” Logistics and transport are the backbone of global trade, shaping progress and fostering exchange between countries and regions. Yet, this operating system the world runs on moves billions of tons of cargo annually. As demand continues to rise, sustainable logistics practices and greater connectivity are no longer optional – they’re essential. So, it’s about time to talk about solutions. And there is no better platform for this than the COP29. We as Rhenus Logistics are proud to serve as the Official Logistics Partner of COP29 Azerbaijan. Yesterday, we hosted a panel discussion exploring the future of #logistics through collaboration and innovation. After two insightful keynotes of Rahman Hummatov (Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and Stefan Wenzel (Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Germany) we jumped right into the topic. Together with Rovshan Rustamov (Azerbaijan Railways ADY), Nurlan Kenessov (Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and Maria Christina M. Gueorguiev (Veirano Advogados, Brazil) I discussed the Middle Corridor’s pivotal role in linking Europe and Asia through Central Asia, and nearshoring opportunities in Latin America as a means to strengthen regional #SupplyChains and reduce carbon footprints. Brazil, with its strategic role as Latin America’s largest economy, stands out as a key partner in advancing green logistics and driving sustainable growth across the region. As CEO of #Rhenus, I emphasized the importance of building resilient, efficient, and sustainable supply chains. With a strong presence in Central Asia and the Caucasus, particularly along the #NewSilkRoad, and a rapidly growing footprint in Latin America, we are uniquely positioned to address regional challenges, close infrastructure gaps, and promote cross-continental collaboration. And in the end, we all committed to a shared vision: strengthening regional connectivity and building resilient trade routes that bridge continents. By addressing challenges like regulatory complexities and infrastructure gaps, we can unlock the potential of global logistics through strategic investments, collaboration, and innovation, driving economic growth and sustainable supply chains. I’m inspired by the collaborative spirit at #COP29 and look forward to continuing the dialogue on how logistics can bridge continents and drive lasting impact. With COP30 set to take place in Brazil next year, the focus on sustainable logistics and global collaboration remains crucial. 🚀🌎

What Sparked My Interest in Sustainability and Why It Matters to Us All: As the world gears up for the #COP29 summit, my thoughts return to the experiences that first ignited my commitment to sustainability. Working in tech for over two decades, I have seen firsthand the impact of rapid digital transformation on our environment. But beyond the challenges, I have also seen powerful opportunities to drive change—from reducing carbon footprints in operations to creating technology solutions that support sustainable practices. My passion for sustainability stems from the belief that each of us, as individuals and as part of a collective, can make meaningful contributions to a greener future. Every small change—whether it’s choosing energy-efficient solutions, reducing waste, or supporting sustainable businesses—cumulatively drives impact. As individuals, we don’t need to wait for world leaders to take action; we can act now, influencing behaviors, businesses, and policies around us. At the end of the day, sustainability isn’t about sacrifice; it’s about shaping a future where everyone thrives. Let’s make thoughtful choices today, supporting #GreenerTogether, and build a world that future generations will thank us for. #COP29 #Sustainability #GreenFinance #ClimateAction #GreenerTogether #LinkedInNewsIndia Rituraj Phukan Kakali Das Anjan Sarma

📢 Preparing for #COP29? 💡YEH is looking to engage in discussions on #justtransition and #circulareconomy to share challenges, opportunities and best practices based off the report conducted on behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH “Towards a Sustainable Future: Recommendations for a Just Transition in Waste Management and #CircularEconomy in the ASEAN Region” (download report https://lnkd.in/eia7jiy7). ⚖️#Wastemanagement is a significant global challenge due to #rapidurbanization, population growth, and #economicdevelopment. While we are starting to see an uptake of #circular business models, many prioritize #environmental sustainability while excluding essential social elements. ♻As new #circulareconomy strategies are developed and implemented, we need a holistic approach that assesses and mitigates their effects on workers, communities, and broader societal structures following #justtransition principles. 👉Get in touch if you want to meet us or are planning sessions at #COP29 and looking for speakers to participate on topics related to #justtransition, #circulareconomy or #socialbusiness. Christina Jäger , our Co-Founder and Managing Director and Julie Chrysler, our Circular Economy and Social Impact Director will be attending and available to connect. #COP29 #JustTransition #CircularEconomy #SustainableDevelopment #YunusEnvironmentHub

Excited to be attending #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 11-22! 🌍 This year’s summit, known as “The Finance COP,” focuses on securing the green investments needed to drive decarbonization globally—especially in developing nations. As we tackle these critical climate goals, one thing is clear: traceability data will be essential. It’s the key to linking green investments with measurable climate impact, ensuring transparency, and ultimately holding ourselves accountable. I’m thrilled to announce that TrusTrace will be hosting a session, "Data-Driven Decarbonization: Navigating Fashion’s Path to Net Zero," on November 16th at the Swedish Pavilion in the Blue Zone. My Co-Founder and COO, Saravanan Parisutham, will lead a discussion with industry experts, including Jens Nielsen ( World Climate Foundation), Lewis Perkins (Apparel Impact Institute), and Henrik Sundberg (H&M Group). We’ll explore how robust traceability data empowers fashion and other industries to measure and manage their environmental impact, while unlocking the financial capital needed for real transformation. We’ll examine challenges like data access, supplier enablement, and investment barriers to data-driven decarbonization. Fashion alone is a $1.7 trillion industry that produces up to 10% of global emissions, so the stakes couldn’t be higher. 📍 If you’re at COP29, DM me to connect or find me, Anja Sadock, and Saravanan Parisutham at the Swedish Pavilion in the Blue or Green Zones. Let’s discuss how traceability and data are de-risking green investments and powering sustainable supply chains. #COP29 #SustainableSupplyChains #Decarbonization #Traceability #GreenFinance

We’re still flying high after our week at #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Talking with customers, partners, and industry experts on how we can move forward with driving accountability to build trust and a better planet has left us inspired to do good. Here are some of the highlights: ✅ The time for change is always now. After living through a five-year drought on her family’s farm in Zimbabwe, Tafadzwa Kurotwi decided to turn to action. “I realized, I cannot sit despite what had happened. I need to influence young people to know, despite whatever story you came from, you can also drive change.” ✅ The buy-in lies in the data. Leverage the data at your fingertips to gain buy-in for sustainability efforts across the organization. “I think the debate around good for business, good for the world is over—but we can underpin that idea with auditable data that helps bring along our financial and legal colleagues,” advised Mary de Wysocki at an Extreme Hangout chat. ✅ Innovation is critical to progress. Ambitious goals demand great intention. To meet targets, organizations need to invest in innovation seriously. “Without technology, we won't succeed in a timely, effective, or accurate manner,” said Nura Taef, Partner, Deloitte Canada. ✅ There isn’t a perfect solution, but you must move forward. As the saying goes, progress over perfection. The consequence of inaction is too great of a risk to take, and that’s why, whether perfect or not, organizations need to establish strategies for sustainability in their operations. “Sometimes imperfect solutions today are better than perfect solutions delivered too late,” said Laia Barbarà, Head of Climate Strategy, World Economic Forum.
