Agency owners, stop selling pie-in-the-sky promises. Your clients don't need grand visions - they need a roadmap. Show them the journey. Steps 1, 2, 3, and beyond. Why? Because it: 1. Reinforces your expertise 2. Builds confidence in your process 3. Maintains your status as the expert guide Remember: A visual map of your process isn't just pretty - it's powerful. It shows clients why each step matters and how it leads to their desired outcome. Don't just promise results. Show the path to get there.

Agency Owners, remember this: sometimes, one client can change everything. The grind is real, but imagine one perfect-fit client. This client understands and values your work. Referrals roll in, and your network expands. It’s not a myth—one client can be a game-changer. Keep pushing; that one client could be just one conversation away. DM “Scale” to find your breakthrough.

5 Simple Things You Can Do Today to Make Your Agency Future-Proof: 1. Collect testimonials. 2. Read them and use their language on your landing page. 3. Ask your clients what they value most about your business. 4. Make that your value proposition. 5. Carve out a niche of clients who love and value what you offer. Bonus tip: Focus all your marketing efforts on those clients and ignore everyone else. Remember, referrals are not forever. They are wonderful when they come easily, but they can dry up. Stop losing your existing clients. Here's how you can retain and get more referrals from the existing ones. 1. Listen First → Don’t get defensive with your client → Listen to the objection more than anything else 2. Communicate more → Ask more questions to get clarity → Address objections by highlighting how the service will benefit them 3. Assurance → Whoever is paying you money wants a guarantee so offer guarantees and trial periods → The focus should always be on their success 4. Make changes → Very often make changes and try to identify the best process → Do soft launches with clients before full rollout P.S. What is your biggest problem in scaling your agency?

My agency has a different approach than most. Quality is better than quantity when it comes to clients. Focusing on building long term partnerships with businesses that are ambitious and want to grow is the goal. It’s very is to get caught up in wanting more and more clients when you aren’t even serving your current ones 100%. Focusing on becoming a boutique agency who builds real relationships. Rather than a cookie cutter agency where clients are just ‘another’ business.

The terms 'fast-growing agency' and'scale-up' do the opposite of selling to me. They scream one-size-fit-all. Nothing any sane business owners seeks for her business… Even if new collaboration often feel messy at first with more back and forth, 15-min-meetings, and a lot of realignments. Not one solution out there can be 100% fit. Not from the start, and not without both parties surrendering to one another. That's where I see boutique services being so dang powerful. Your solution isn't a 100% fit here either. Not if you seek a collab that feels natural, close to perfection. It can't be. But you don't rush, instead you build systems that align perfectly with your client's needs and your own needs too. I avoid 'fast-scaling' agencies like the plague. They miss an ingredient I can't do without. For me it's never about cranking out volume. I want stress-free. I want tailored. I want experience. Let's face it, nobody likes to be treated as a number. Slow, steady and personalized wins the race (and the clients).

If you're interested in getting the most wealth out of your Agency. Then this is for you. Peter Czapp at the The Wow Company is holding a webinar on this very topic next Tuesday 16th at 9.30am. This is essential content if you ever think of selling - but even more to it, is what are the key ingredients that you need to focus on to get the most out of a sale. I think this is golden advice, even if you're not thinking of selling. I know. I set my business to sell ten years in advance. It made me a better MD, a better agency boss, and a much better agency owner.
