Mobily has signed a 6-years hosting agreement with the MVNO Red Bull Mobile The Saudi mobile operator Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily), has signed a hosting agreement with the mobile virtual network operator (#MVNO) Red Bull Mobile, operated by the Future Networks Communications Company. In a statement, Mobily said that the contract includes hosting #RedBullMobile as a MVNO on Mobily’s network for six years. The cumulative contract value over a six-year period represents more than 5% of Mobily’s 2023 annual revenue, the telecom company said, expecting a positive financial impact starting from Q4 2025. Mobily's 2023 annual revenue was SAR 16.8 billion (USD 4.47 billion) The agreement offers Mobily the opportunity to expand its market reach and improve operational efficiency by leveraging its existing network infrastructure to host MVNOs, the statement added. https://lnkd.in/gY2yUN7Y

As an advisor to MVNOs, I've noticed a common misconception: "If I have a strong brand, customers will flock to me." While brand is certainly important, it's not a silver bullet. Witness the failures of Virgin Mobile and Red Bull Mobile in the South African market. (note: In SA, Red Bull Mobile was merely a white-labeled reseller and not an actual MVNO). A key mistake many MVNOs make is trying to be a mini Vodacom/Vodafone. This approach often leads to high costs and limited differentiation. Instead, focus on niche markets and unique value propositions. To succeed as an MVNO, focus on a three-pronged approach: 1. Brand: Build a strong, recognisable identity. 2. Customer Base: Target specific segments with tailored offerings. 3. Distribution: Ensure widespread availability and accessibility. Beyond these pillars, offer unique value propositions that go beyond price and customer service. By combining these elements, MVNOs can differentiate themselves in a competitive market and attract loyal customers. BTW, I'd like to see Red Bull make another attempt at the South African market. This time, however, with a true #MVNO model and a well-aligned digital ecosystem could offer a more promising foundation for success.

Is Kuwait’s Telecom Market Oversaturated? Let’s Talk Numbers. Kuwait, with a population of just 4.4 million, has become a battleground for 8 different telecom brands offering SIM cards. With major players like Ooredoo, Zain, and STC already well-established, Virgin Mobile as an MVNO have entered the market with two brands (Virgin Mobile and Friendi mobile) , to make things worst Zain Collaborated with Red Bull Mobile and Ooredoo with Aura further intensifying competition. But with so many brands/Sub Brands chasing a relatively small market, it raises important questions: • Is there room for growth, or has the market reached saturation? • How can these telecom brands differentiate themselves beyond price wars? • Are customers really benefiting from the influx of options, or is it leading to confusion and diminishing loyalty? One thing is clear—this oversaturation is pushing telecom providers to get creative with their offerings, relying on digital first concepts, niche marketing, and strategic partnerships. Brands that prioritize customer experience and provide true value beyond data and minutes will stand out in this crowded market. In such a dynamic market, success will come to those who can innovate and provide genuine solutions that meet the needs of a highly discerning customer base. What are your thoughts on the future of Kuwait’s telecom market? #Telecom #Kuwait #MarketingStrategy #MVNO #CustomerExperience #TelecomInnovation
