When somebody ask me why I think is important a design first and why Enterprise architecture is crucial on driving this approach here is what I respond: Enterprise architecture is vital in modern IT organizations because it provides a blueprint for aligning technology with business goals, ensuring efficiency, agility, and innovation. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, where businesses rely heavily on technology, having a clear architecture helps in managing complexity, reducing costs, and facilitating seamless integration of new technologies. It also enables better decision-making, risk management, and scalability, ultimately driving business success. Another big misunderstanding is about EA and Solution Architecture (SA), both deal with Architecture and have some overlaps but there are some key differences: 1- Scope: EA work holistically while SA dig into a specific solution 2- Abstraction: EA works on higher level of abstraction looking at dependicies, standard adoption and best practices while SA dig into details of implementation 3- Time Horizon: EA works on longer time horizon in order to support strategic evolution of the ecosystem while SA is more immediate and focus on delivering a solution 4- Stakeholders: EA deals with different stakeholders like Executives, Biz leaders and IT professionals to ensure alignment with biz objectives while SA is more dealing with project teams, developers and SME to deliver the specific solution
