This aligns directly with the goals of Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs). As businesses work to address skills gaps, LSIPs can play a critical role in ensuring that local workforces are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in inclusive, equitable environments. ASTM's human resource management committee (E63) has proposed two standards to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace that will aid in combatting ineffectiveness and inefficiency, and help workplaces focus on best practices. Sara Taylor, vice chair of E63 and the chair of the subcommittee on diversity, equity and inclusion, explained that they are always looking for experienced practitioners to help review because of the misunderstanding that surrounds DEI work.
