YouTube is rolling out 'Hype' that will help us discover and support emerging talent. 🔍🆕 With Hype, YouTube is trying to focus on growing the smaller channels and helping people discover and share new creators. Hype is an entirely new promotional system inside of YouTube where there’s a new button for hyping a video, and the most-hyped videos will appear on a platform-wide leaderboard. It’s a bit like Trending, but it’s focused specifically on smaller channels and on what people specifically choose to recommend rather than just what they watch. 💬📊 #YouTube #socialmedia #creatoreconomy

As people are deluded with more and more content, and it becomes harder and harder for content creators to cut through, look for them to start building communities. YouTube sees it coming. That's why earlier this month the company announced that it's working on YouTube Communities: spaces where fans of content creators can gather and connect with one another. This underscores the key difference between audiences and communities: To build an audience, you create content. To build a community, you must create a space. Content can play a key role in creating that space, but you cannot build a space with content alone. At the moment, YouTube is experimenting with Communities; it expects to roll the feature out to the public in 2025. https://lnkd.in/gx-XSSDE #communitybuilding

Here's how I met the CEO of YouTube, Neal Mohan Made on YouTube 2024 was earlier this week. It's an event YouTube flies me out to cover yearly. Here Directors of Product (Sarah, Thomas, Vivien, Bangaly) walk through upcoming tools and features they've been building for Creators! Here's what you should know: 1. Inspiration Creators can now type a rough video idea, and in return, they'll get multiple video suggestions, outlines for the video, thumbnail ideas, and more. This is game-changing for Creators like myself. 2. Communities: Think about it like a Subreddit or Discord built into a YouTuber's channel. This lets Creators connect with their audience on a completely different level without having to go off-platform. It allows their fans to connect too. 3. Hype: A new way to discover emerging Creators with a weekly leaderboard. It's meant to help small-to-medium-size creators get recognition and connect with new audiences. Only Creators with less than 500,000 Subs can be on here. 4. Auto Dubbing: Dubbing on YouTube can help make your videos more accessible to a Worldwide audience. Soon YouTube will let more Creators add Dubbed Audio tracks automatically (It'll sound like YOU are speaking a different language). 5. Gifts Powered by Jewels: A new way to monetize on YouTube for Vertical Streamers. Viewers can react and express excitement by actively participating in the Creator's Stream through Gifts! Anyways, after the event I walked up to Neal and we got this pic! He recognized me from all the posts I make about the Creator Economy on X, which was pretty surreal to me Huge thanks to Rene, Elizabeth, Amjad, Chelsea, Scott, Kate, and many more for making this an unforgettable event. Also, quick shoutout to Niladri, Tiffany, and Kevin for the catch-up at the YouTube offices, love y'all <3 I want to post on LinkedIn more, I feel like I have a lot to offer this platform so if you're interested, drop a follow! I'd love to connect with more industry leaders :) #Marketing #YouTube #Creators

YouTube has introduced "Hype," a new feature designed to help smaller channels (under 500,000 subscribers) gain more visibility. Viewers can "hype" their favorite videos within the first seven days of release, helping them climb a leaderboard. Each user gets three hypes per week, with smaller channels earning more points per hype. This tool empowers fans to support emerging creators and increase their exposure. YouTube plans to expand the feature, with potential options for paid hypes that share revenue with creators. https://lnkd.in/gGTXBEhV #YouTubeHype #YouTube

MrBeast's Path to 245 Million YouTube Subscribers🌟 Did you know? MrBeast, the legendary YouTube sensation, has amassed a staggering 245 million subscribers as of March 2024, making him the most-subscribed individual and the second most-subscribed channel overall. At just 19, MrBeast faced a pivotal choice: accept $5K for a video or double it to give back. Opting for impact over instant gratification, he embarked on an unstoppable journey with his team, dissecting thumbnails, analyzing virality, and perfecting the art of content creation. Together, they understood that progress is exponential when fueled by collaborative innovation. Mistakes became invaluable lessons, failures mere stepping stones. Their mantra? It's not just about views; it's about exceeding expectations and building trust. But what's their secret? Understanding their audience was paramount. From million-Orbeez spectacles to global outreach, inclusivity was at the heart of their content strategy. Passion was the driving force behind their perseverance. Every hour of brainstorming and filming was dedicated to making a genuine impact on their audience. YouTube isn't just a platform; it's a way of life. Crafting strategies that transcend borders, igniting change, and making every click count is their ultimate goal. #ContentStrategy #CollaborativeInnovation #AudienceEngagement #GlobalOutreach #PassionAndPurpose #DigitalImpact #CreativeJourney #ContentCreatorsCommunity #InnovativeApproaches #StrategicContentCreation #MakingADifference #DigitalMarketingStrategy #CreativeAction #BeyondBoundaries

Letter from the YouTube CEO: 4 Big bets for 2024 The bets placed for 2024 will enrich YouTube's offerings and bring people together, whether they're gaming, learning, or catching a podcast. Behind the headlines, teams toil daily so innovations, big and small, deliver on the promise of connection through stories. #1: AI will empower human creativity. YouTube is approaching AI advances with its founding mission: to help everyone create. New experiments like Dream Screen, which generates Shorts backgrounds from typed ideas, demonstrate YouTube's drive to innovate with AI in a way that empowers creativity. Through industry collaborations, YouTube is also exploring how AI can enhance music creation. With Shorts empowering anyone to create and 70 billion daily views, YouTube is committed to developing inclusive AI tools that push creative boundaries. #2: Creators should be recognized as next-generation studios. Creators are redefining entertainment with top-tier storytelling that world leaders now recognize. As entrepreneurs, YouTube supports their revenue diversification, from viewer tips to shoppable videos. Memberships increased 50%+ in 2022, becoming some creators’ core income. Behind the scenes, YouTube builds community. This year, advocating for labor reform and industry forums will showcase creators’ economic and entertainment value. #3: YouTube’s next frontier is the living room and subscriptions. YouTube blurs content divisions. Viewers want creators and studios seamlessly on their biggest screens, watching over 1 billion hours a day. Top creators optimize for living rooms where watchtime doubled recently. YouTube also leads streaming watchtime in the U.S. Subscription services grow too—over 8 million YouTube TV and 100 million Music & Premium subscribers. The future intertwines sports, creators, and subscriptions for unrivaled living room experiences. YouTube develops these best-in-class offerings so fans easily connect with their favorite creators and content. #4: Protecting the creator economy is foundational. YouTube's top priority is protecting the community that drives its business. Supporting creators and providing healthy, trustworthy content gives users and advertisers confidence. Policies strictly enforce boundaries around hate, violence, misinformation, especially around elections. Emerging issues like deepfakes will add transparency labels and invite continuous improvement of protections. Responsible operations empower a safe community. #youtube #youtubechannel #youtubevideo
