This 10th November, Eurachem marks the World Science Day for Peace and Development with a short blog article. This international day was established in 2001 by UNESCO, to raise awareness about the importance of scientific knowledge to face, in a constructive way, the multiple challenges affecting human societies so far. The UN 2030 Agenda focuses on 17 objectives, all of them aiming to support peace and development and all of them requiring support from scientific knowledge. This article describes how Eurachem helps to promote science for sustainable development. https://lnkd.in/erStgTeW

Join our session during XMAS7 in Xiamen City, China early next year! I will be co-convening the session on "Assessment and Simulation of Coupled Human-sea Systems", where we focus on the coupling points and mechanisms between humans and ecosystems in coastal zones. In other words, socio-ecological interactions in coastal zones. Joint discussion will be held on the key scientific and practical management issues about coupled human-sea systems for promoting the sustainable development of the coastal zones.

Academic networks become invaluable sources of motivation and resources, especially in the scientific field for the #BlueEconomy, i.e. economic and sustainable development of resources of the ocean, seas, and coasts. Here are some of the key aspects highlighted by Angelica Borja di Filippo, the co-founder of RAMAF Academic Network of Maritime and Fluvial Programs, in this edition of She of Change. Read it on pg 45 here: https://lnkd.in/dWHwa7nn #MaritimeSheEO #WomenInMaritime
