It feels so good to walk into a room filled with over a hundred women business leaders. I had the opportunity to attend not one, but two women's business conferences (Michigan Business Women’s Women in Leadership Conference and Forté Foundation’s Fall MBA Women's Virtual Leadership Conference) today to hear from powerhouse women who are killing it in their careers and family lives. Some of my favorite takeaways: 🖋 People are not just trusting your map, but your compass, so you have to clearly communicate your mission, vision, and directions. 🖋 You need to speak the language of the people making decisions to make it meaningful for them 🖋 Our job as a leader is to create a safe environment for ourselves and others to show up authentically including space for feedback especially in high-performing teams 🖋 Schedule meetings with your teammates without an agenda to have human interactions and check-ins 🖋 When networking make it a goal to know 3 things that the person cares about outside of work “A leader is a person you follow to a place you wouldn't go by yourself” – Joel A Barker University of Michigan - Stephen M. The honest truth? A training on How To Build Strategic Capacity for Leadership just won’t do. This is why in addition to my upcoming training in collaboration with a very special guest, I have rallied other women who are thriving in global leadership (SWIPE TO FIND OUT WHO THEY ARE) to get in conversation on how they have also been able to build their capacity. Through these conversations, my goal is to help you see yourself through the journeys of other women in global leadership, learn how they were able to build strategic capacity and gain practical advice and insights on how you can do same. Over the next few weeks, we will be having Leadership Conversations that are REAL, RAW & AUTHENTIC TO THE CORE starting from the 10th August, 2024. Consider this your personal invitation to get in conversation with women who are thriving in global leadership even as we gear up for the upcoming training where you will learn how to build strategic capacity to help you: 📌Navigate Complex & Dynamic Environments 📌 Sustain Long-Term Success 📌 Develop your ability To Empower Others To join the waitlist, comment AUTHENTIC & Don’t forget to block your calendars #onyekanwobu #WomeninCSuite #Capacity #Charisma #authenticallyglobal #strategy #capacityforleadership #branding #education #technology #womeninleadership #authenticleadershipconversations #alc #levelc

Stereotypes about leadership styles can hinder women's advancement in school leadership roles. Traditional perceptions of leadership often align with assertive, commanding traits typically associated with masculinity. In turn, women who exhibit collaborative or empathetic leadership styles may face skepticism or resistance when vying for leadership positions. Would you agree? Are there other factors that hold women back from ascending to these influential positions? What can we do to help break down these barriers? I coach so many incredible, talented and experienced women and this is what I hear a LOT 👇🏼 ⭐️ Female leaders feel like they are not heard when they have something important to say. ⭐️ Female leaders feel like they have to work twice as hard to get the same recognition as their male counterparts. ⭐️ Female leaders feel that they have to constantly prove their worth. So much of this can be attributed to systemic bias around gender justice, gender equality and unconscious social programming which is based on gender, rather than ability.
