This week I digged deep into what design principles are and how to use them in interface design. During the course of learning, I was a bit confused of the differences between similarity and proximity. But when I dipped my head into the content very well 😂😅, I got it! 🚀🚀 Let me share the secret I saw with you 😉 Similarity is a design principle that says that similar element appears to be related. while Proximity is a design principle that says elements that are close are related and they are seen has a single unit. Soooo, Similar elements are know by their similarity in Size, color, shape, and orientation. They may not need to be close. while Elements that are in proximity are known by their closeness. Understanding the psychology behind design choices was particularly eye-opening, as it emphasized the importance of empathy and user-centricity in creating impactful designs. Overall, this course has equipped me with valuable skills that I'm excited to apply in my future design projects.

Happy Monday to everyone :) I wanted to share that I completed the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) course "Accessibility: How to Design for All." I liked how Frank S. provided the materials. Here are my key takeaways from the course: ✅ I was impressed by how many products we have now that are not accessible; ✅ It is better to structure the flow by context (not by visual layout) when prioritizing the content (focus control); ✅ Live accessibility testing examples were convenient and illustrative to understand how it is held; ✅ How to make alt text for complex images and infographics; ✅ Accessibility hints for forms, tables, and search (grouping and tagging). Hi Designers, I've just finished reading "Interaction of Color" by Josef Albers (formerly of the Bauhaus and Yale University). As much as design is never done, learning about design is never done. Albers mentions many transferrable concepts in the book (see link below) to product / UI design, particularly color psychology and WCAG. 𝐌𝐲 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞: ❤️ Color is the most subjective part of visual arts and design. In a sense, it is not an objective, static quality. 🎭 Colors can be deceptive, and judicious use of this ability can influence emotion and usability. 👁 The objective of the study of color isn't the recitation of theory. It's gaining an experienced eye. 🎓 Excellence in teaching isn't so much about giving right answers all the time, rather it's about asking better questions. 🎨 Practice before learning theory (this one blew my mind). That way the theory will have a basis in experience.
