Today, 22-May-2024, is #BiodiversityDay. This year‘s theme is: Be part of the plan. Biodiversity is a great ally in combating the effects of climate change. E.g., intact eco systems are proven buffer zones against global warming. But their buffer capacity is limited. Furthermore, biodiversity continues to be under pressure by human actions, incl. the destruction of ecosystems, deforestation, use of land and animals - just to name a few. So I’d like to support to be part of the plan - and to find many solutions great and small to protect and to foster biodiversity. Everyone, from governments to communities, from businesses to individuals, can play a vital role and therefore be #PartOfThePlan. #BiodiversityDay #PartOfThePlan #ForNature

This is a bit of 'pinch yourself moment'. If you asked me a couple years ago how I was going to translate a passion for the natural world into positive climate action I wouldn't have had a very good answer. Fast forward a couple years and here we are! Lets face it, in the climate sector we're faced with a lot of bad news and anxiety-inducing science, making it even more important to celebrate the wins. Importantly, this not just a win for Chloris Geospatial and Equitable Earth, it's a win for indigenous communities, the voluntary carbon market in general, and hopefully every tree and animal that will be protected as a result of this work. 🌳 #vcm #climatechange
