Every week this semester I’ve scheduled 2-3 information meetings/interviews to network with people in the PR, advertising, marketing related industries. Here is who I've talked to and what I've learned the past few weeks!

- Relate outreach to relevant news occurences, timely topics, national headlines, current events etc.
- Don't compare yourself to other students, everyone works at their own pace

- Take risks and opportunities, now is the time to identify what you don’t want to do

- Understanding evaluation and measurement methods for program implementation is crucial
- Don’t take criticism personally, watch out for typos, speak up and defend yourself!

- Women are powerful with the mindset of “I never once thought I didn’t deserve to be in the ___”. I use this affirmation to help manifest working in the C-Suite one day :)
- Don’t be scared that you don’t have a skill, see it as an opportunity to learn
- Unless someone can speak on your behalf, companies don’t want to invest in employees they can’t fully trust

- Avoid Spray and Pray pitching! Tailor each pitch who each journalist or producer
