Reflecting on my journey at Philip Morris, I've spent most of my career in various corporate roles, never anticipating the twists life had in store. Following my husband's path within the same corporate entity was unexpected, yet immensely rewarding. This company has been more than an employer; they've been a supportive family, accommodating our needs even during times of transition to other affiliates. The transformation and evolution within the company have been truly uplifting, especially when aligned with my core beliefs. While I may not hold a top-level position, I firmly believe that each of us contributes significantly to shaping the culture we collectively create. I strive to engage in as many activities as possible beyond my immediate role—participating in projects, trainings, and more—to connect with fellow employees. I've learned that fulfillment doesn't always come solely from one's current role. Sometimes, it's about creating additional avenues to channel that extra energy and passion. There's endless potential for growth and fulfillment, and I encourage others to explore these possibilities, even if it means stepping outside of their comfort zones.Here's to embracing change, fostering collaboration, and continuously seeking fulfillment in both personal and professional endeavors. 🌟 A Major Career Milestone! 🌟 I’m excited and beyond grateful to announce that I’ve joined Walmart Canada as a Direct Receiver! This marks a significant achievement in my career journey, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to take this next step. After moving to Canada and facing several challenges over the past six months in my job search, it’s incredibly rewarding to have landed this role. The transition to a new country brought its own set of hurdles, but persistence, patience, and a lot of hard work have paid off. This experience has taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and staying committed to your goals, even when the road gets tough. As a Direct Receiver, I’m excited to be part of a dynamic team at Walmart, where I can continue to grow, learn, and contribute. I look forward to bringing my skills and experiences to the role, collaborating with a talented team, and delivering excellent results. Before the end of Q2, I want to hurry up with the news from the previous quarter. I was honored to be named the Marketing Team’s Key Player of Q1!   Screenshot with my grateful, happy face, eagerly awaiting this post for almost 3 months 😁 🎉 This recognition has truly inspired me, and it got me thinking about the power of appreciation. Our recent launch of the internal recognition hub really highlighted how important it is to foster motivation and a positive culture among the team. Creating a culture of recognition isn’t just a checkbox for the Employer Brand; it’s an integral part of a thriving team where everyone benefits: ✔ The company gains a high-performing, loyal workforce. ✔ Team experiences a boost in motivation and job satisfaction. So, here’s a little reminder for all of us: don’t wait until the end of a project to give props. Celebrate those small wins too!

In my early career, I achieved something truly remarkable at the company I worked for. How remarkable? It was an extremely significant accomplishment, and everyone benefited from it—both inside and outside the company. One day, I was chatting with an executive at the company, and he was surprised to find out I was behind this achievement. "Did you know everyone's taking credit for this, and your name hasn't come up?" he said. It was frustrating, like getting sucker-punched. It’s great to share credit, as sometimes multiple people work on something simultaneously, but it made me realize that some might take advantage of that. It's important to celebrate your successes out loud. In some places, you might need to over-communicate your accomplishments. Managers: remember to give your employees the credit they deserve. It will reflect even better on you than the achievement itself. At PepsiCo we celebrate success by giving ‘smiles awards’, but also take the time to recognize our team achievements on an ongoing basis. Tag someone you are really proud off and let them know.

Without this man, I wouldn't have lasted 12 months at Dee Set. *Reads first project brief with a sinking feeling* That was how I felt in 2012. I’d joined to grow the business's Morrisons account, and we quickly won a major project… which is when I realised I had *huge* process knowledge gaps. 😬 I knew how to run a business and was confident working with customers... But a 500+ store rollout including new stands, categories and products (in a very short space of time) was a little over my head. 🥁 🥁 🥁 Luckily for me, James Sharratt quickly took me under his wing and we worked on the project together. He shared his expertise and skills whilst I managed the customer side (I’ll be honest; he probably did most of the work!) Not only did he offer guidance, but he did it with no angle or competition and quickly became someone I looked forward to seeing in the office. Without this kindness and patience, I genuinely don’t know if I would have stayed (or lasted) past the first six months. 12 years on, I still reflect fondly on our time working together and the impact he had on me. 👏 These are the people who make a real difference 👏 If you can be anyone in your business, be that person. Despite not holding high titles like DM or RM, I take pride in excelling in my role. It's about being valued and appreciated by the company. The key takeaway: never underestimate your capabilities.
