On Monday, we wrapped up our NZ Xero Roadshows for the year, finishing up in Auckland. It’s been a fabulous few weeks connecting in person with our accounting and bookkeeping partners, meeting new app partners and of course giving away much loved Xero merch. We were lucky to have Simon Curran and Propel Performance Group return as our keynote speakers for the year. My key takeaway was the power and energy usage of the brain and mindset and the importance of the type of questions that we regularly ask ourselves. 1. Where am I going? 2. What is in my way? 3. How can I get around it? 4. Why is this worth fighting for? Simple yet so effective.

"If you're havin' month-end problems, I feel bad for you son. I got 99 recharge rules on Mayday, so recharging costs and revenues between my related entities ain't one" I absolutely love this moment. At Mayday, we offer all new trialists a concierge onboarding call. They typically last 20 minutes. We talk through our user's needs when it comes to intercompany charges. We create their first recharge rules together so they can see how things work. Then they have everything they need to go off and complete the setup for all their different recharge situations. Off the back of a recent onboarding call, I was checking a new trialists's account to see how they were getting on and saw the image below. Why do I love this moment? Not because it gives me the opportunity to work lyrical wizardry by seamlessly shoehorning intercompany recharging into Jay-Z's lyrics. Although that is definitely an added bonus 😀 No. I love it because this is the moment that it's clear things have clicked. That trialist has seen the better future that lies ahead of them and plowed on and created all the recharge rules they need to access that future. I'll be honest. In month 1, using Mayday for your intercompany charges is typically time-neutral. The time you invest in setting Recharger up is equivalent to the time it used to take to run things manually. But after that point, WOW do things get great. From month 2 onwards it's a 98% time saving. The days' worth of manual work becomes minutes. We've enabled businesses to accelerate their month-end close by over 2 weeks. It's such a privilege to work with such a rapidly growing volume of amazing businesses at Mayday.
