As Women’s History Month 2024 comes to a close, I am grateful for the chance to reflect on the remarkable contributions of women both past and present. Often, we hear about a woman's success story, but seldom about the obstacles and setbacks that may have impeded progress. Women are extraordinary. They are powerful, compassionate, insightful, thought-provoking, results-oriented, and agents of change in both personal and professional realms. The journey to hone these qualities while achieving desired outcomes can be daunting. Why? Because all too often, there aren't enough opportunities to laugh, to enjoy the scent of flowers, to dance to great music, or to simply take a moment to exist. My admiration gravitates towards those whose words or actions have had a profound effect—Ida B. Wells, Toni Morrison, Shirley Chisolm, Patricia Harris, Constance Baker Motley, Catherine Johnson, Phillis Wheatley Peters, Mahalia Jackson, Harriet Tubman, among many others. To some, they may seem a disparate group, but to me, they are examples of courage, persistence, strength, character, the arts, motherhood, relationships, human rights, and justice. These women were the quiet forces who left legacies without seeking recognition, as well as pioneers who blazed trails with a fiery spirit, aiming to make a difference with every endeavor. As Women’s History Month draws to an end, let us: 1) Celebrate and uplift the incredible women around us 2) Recognize those who continue to make a significant impact, whether boldly or quietly 3) Support women, become allies for their growth, and contribute to reducing inequalities #Herstorycontinues

"Surround yourself with people who are only going to lift you higher". Networking is so important, especially if you want to be good at stakeholder management. I like to surround myself with people I can learn from. Whether it be project management skills (as someone always has a different approach or tool that's really useful), or an IT skill for my toolbox. Recently I've discovered a truly incredible networking support group that's available for all female project managers, or those starting their journey. Liz Hector and her team are holding webinars and Book Clubs, creating a great community of project managers, and peers you can learn from. Don't miss it on today's lunchtime webinar - details below 👇🏼 #projectmanager #womeninprojectmanagement

Great opportunity to discuss the most recent developments in offshore wind, and the directon floating wind is headed 🌬 Also interesting for my fellow electrical engineers working in the energy sector to think about the impact this will have on the #energytransition ⚡ After all, we'll have to think about the best way to transport that renewable energy to shore 🔌 #KIVInvi
🌟 Don't miss out! 🌟 Join us on May 14th at the CCC of the Green-village for an inspiring Women in Floating Wind event! Happy Monday, everyone! As we walk into a new month filled with significance and empowerment, let's shine a light on two important observances close to our hearts: Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month. 🚺 Women's History Month: Throughout March, myObMD.org will honor the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women who have shaped history and transformed our world. From trailblazing scientists to fearless activists, women have been at the forefront of progress, inspiring us all to dream, achieve, and advocate for equality. Let's celebrate the resilience, strength, and leadership of women everywhere! 💛 Endometriosis Awareness Month: March is also a time to raise awareness about endometriosis, a complex and often misunderstood condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Endometriosis can cause chronic pain, infertility, and other debilitating symptoms, yet it remains underdiagnosed and undertreated. Let's unite to amplify the voices of those living with endometriosis, advocate for better understanding and support, and work towards improved care and research. What are your thoughts on Women's History Month and Endometriosis Awareness Month? How can we continue to support and empower women, both in healthcare and beyond? Let's connect and inspire each other to strive for progress and equality.
