Election Primer. With the 2024 election coming up next week, it could lead you to question what might happen to your stock portfolio. I have written an article addressing the misconception that politics are a significant driver of stock market direction. Drawing insights from acclaimed investors like Howard Marks and Warren Buffett, I have explained why focusing on the fundamentals of businesses is a far more effective investment strategy. This blog covers topics such as: • How emotions can cloud investment decisions • The minimal effect of politics on the stock market • Identifying and owning great businesses You can read the entire article here: https://lnkd.in/gGFUW4bv Check Capital Site https://lnkd.in/gdqzQV4N Should this article prompt you to contact us, you can call us at (714) 641-3579 or reply to this email. Should You Keep Your Inherited Financial Advisor or Invest Yourself? Answers: https://lnkd.in/g_veQhUJ #Inheritance #Investing #FinancialAdvisor Hey everyone! So, I've recently come into some money—around $300,000—thanks to an inheritance. Along with that, I also inherited a personal financial advisor who was managing my late family member’s investments. They charge 1% of the portfolio value, billed quarterly, which seems to be the norm. Here’s where it gets a little tricky: the advisor has built a diversified portfolio, but it mostly consists of blue-chip stocks. 🏦 While blue-chip stocks are considered safe and stable, I can't shake off the feeling that they might not be pushing the envelope much. I’m left wondering if this is the best strategy moving forward or if I should take the reins myself. Some pain points I'm thinking about: Cost: At 1%, that can add up! Is the value I’m getting from this advisor worth the price? Performance: If the portfolio isn’t breaking new ground, am I missing out on better returns elsewhere? Control: Do I want to take control of my own investments, or is it better to have an expert handle it for me? 🤔 Here’s what I'...

For anyone with an interest in value investing this is definitely worth a read.
Similar to the 2000s, we believe many investors are focusing on the prospects of high-growth US tech stocks and overlooking the potential relatively undervalued UK market. This is causing UK companies to turn to corporate takeovers, or to take matters into their own hands through share buybacks. In this new paper, Ian Lance, Co-Head and Portfolio Manager, Redwheel Value & Income, outlines the opportunity for investors to return to UK investment, the advantages of share buyback adoption, and the hidden value in the UK’s seemingly neglected market. Read here: https://lnkd.in/exTc7UJr For professional investors. No investment strategy or risk management technique can guarantee returns or eliminate risks in any market environment. #viewsonvalue #ukinvestment #investing #value

Doing a public company valuation is hard. 99 times out of 100, I buy index funds and just let them ride like Jack Bogle. I do, however, make one exception. At work, I use a suite of products almost every day. I know these products inside and out. I know how they stack up against other solutions, and I follow their roadmaps. I like to invest (long) in the businesses that run the products that I use for work. As a power user, I have insight not reflected in the financials - which could be an advantage. Bill.com is one of those products for me. Which products do you use daily, and would they make a good investment?
