Hello SAC aspirants, "Knowledge is Power " Let's go through the fundamentals of SAC with my ‘All About SAC’ posts. Let’s dive in together!” Day 3/ 7 - How SAC integrates with Data sources ? SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integrates with a wide range of data sources, both on-premise and cloud-based, through live and import connections. Here’s a detailed overview: Live Connections: SAP HANA: SAC can connect directly to SAP HANA, allowing real-time data access and analysis. This connection supports Single Sign-On (SSO) and ensures data security. SAP BW: Live connections to SAP BW enable real-time reporting and analysis, with metadata stored in SAC while the actual data remains in BW. SAP S/4HANA: SAC can connect to both on-premise and cloud versions of SAP S/4HANA, providing real-time insights and analytics. Note: Integration via live connectivity is only possible for SAP data sources. Import Connections: 1. SAP Systems: SAP HANA: Data from SAP HANA can be imported into SAC for analysis. This is useful for scenarios where data needs to be transformed or enriched before analysis. SAP BW/BW4HANA: Data can be imported from SAP BW for more complex data manipulation and analysis. SAP S/4HANA: Import connections allow data from SAP S/4HANA to be brought into SAC for detailed analysis and reporting 2. Non-SAP Systems: Databases: SAC supports importing data from various databases, including SQL Server, Oracle, and others. Cloud Applications: Data from cloud applications like Salesforce, Google Drive, and others can be imported into SAC for comprehensive analysis. Spreadsheets and Files: SAC can import data from Excel files, CSV files, and other formats, making it easy to integrate data from various sources.
