About 10 years ago, when I was in 7th grade, I was at the start of my chess journey. I was playing a FIDE-rated tournament in Kerala as an unrated player. In the second-to-last round, I managed to secure a draw, which, combined with my previous performances, meant I had achieved my FIDE rating. That makes the game one of my most memorable ones in chess. My opponent was a 7-year-old boy. I still remember his enthusiasm as we analyzed the game afterward. He even remarked, “You could have tried for a win because you had the white pieces and a potentially stronger position.” Today, that 7-year-old boy has made history as the youngest-ever World Chess Champion. It’s incredible to reflect on how the people you cross paths with can go on to achieve extraordinary things. Passion, persistence, and time truly craft great destinies. Gukesh has made India incredibly proud! #Gukesh #Chess

And at a tender age of 18. Congratulations and way to go #Mentaltoughness, #Concentration, #Fous, #strongcalculationability, #patternrecognition, #strategicthinking, #Forwardplanning, #patience, #Adaptability, #Analysingcapability, etc. are what makes great chess player and is it very different from being a great player in the corporate world? The question is how to develop such qualities early on and of course Gukesh will inspire a lot of young people in every field. #ShubThoughts

Biswa trashed me in 5 minutes! ♟️ I love how comedians like Samay and Biswa are promoting the chess scene in india. Their influence is inspiring more people to pick up the game and see it as a valuable skill. To be honest, Chess is not my favorite game but it teaches you that just like in life, you need to create your own opportunities. Never wait too long to make a move, because the perfect time may never come or come too late. Whether it be in chess, sports, or life you are in charge of creating your own opportunities and letting your skills do the talking. #chess #biswakalyanrath #chessbase

NTL Celebrates Gukesh's Historic Win! Ramesh D NTL family rejoices in Gukesh's triumph, celebrating the spirit of perseverance and excellence he embodies!! Gukesh Dommaraju, the 18-year-old Indian chess prodigy, has made history by becoming the youngest World Chess Champion, defeating reigning champion Ding Liren in the 2024 FIDE World Championship. Gukesh's fascination with chess began at seven, watching Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen battle it out in Chennai. He dreamed of becoming the youngest world chess champion, a goal he shared with IM Sagar Shah in 2017. Despite losing the first game, Gukesh's determination and mental strength, honed through his work with mental coach Paddy Upton, helped him bounce back. Gukesh's journey to the top was not without its challenges. He faced stiff competition from Ding Liren, who put up an impressive fight. However, Gukesh's strategic thinking and ability to exhaust every resource ultimately led to his triumph. Gukesh Mental Strength, Team Support, Strategic Thinking and his ability to push boundaries helped him outmaneuver opponents. Gukesh's historic win is a testament to his dedication and perseverance. #Gukesh #Worldchampionship #Celebration #Worldchesschampion # #NTL1999 #NTLINDIAPRIVATELIMITED #Ntlindiaprivatelimited #Employeetransportation #Logistics #innovation #management #futurism #marketing #perseverance

🏆 History Made in Chess! 🏆 Congratulations to Dommaraju Gukesh for becoming the youngest World Chess Champion in history by defeating Ding Liren. This monumental achievement not only inspires millions but also underscores the growing synergy between youth and mastery in chess. This resonates deeply with me, as my master’s thesis focused on using YOLO neural networks for recognizing and tracking chess piece movements—a technology applicable to chess-playing robots. Gukesh’s triumph exemplifies how innovation and dedication lead to greatness, whether in chess or technology! #Chess #AI #Innovation #YOLO #Robotics #MachineLearning

India are the champions of the FIDE Chess Olympiad! Here’s a story of how an India-first mentality of players led us to this remarkable achievement. To give you some context, the chess Olympiad team consists of five players, and the respective associations must negotiate with these players to represent their country. Over the years, we’ve seen many players opting out of the Olympiad. For instance, Hikaru Nakamura recently chose not to be part of the USA team (had he played, it might have been a tough battle for India). India has always been able to assemble its strongest team for the competition and this year was no exception and this was a pivotal part in the success. Another example is Ding Liren, the current world champion, who decided to sit out against Gukesh during the India vs. China match to avoid revealing any strategies for his upcoming World Championship match. Gukesh, being the challenger of the world championship match, could have done the same, but he risked some of his personal glory in choosing to play the olympiad match. In the end, what truly matters is that we are the champions, and this is something every one of us can be proud of. #chess #olympiad #gukesh #chessolympiad2024 ChessBase India Chess.com Xplore by XLRI Kaushik Ghosh Sukanya Chatterjee
