Ambuja Cements has reported a slight increase in sales volume to 9.3 million tonnes (mt) in Q1 FY25, up from 9.1 mt in the same period last year. The company’s revenue for the quarter fell 4.5% year-on-year to ₹4,516 crore, down from ₹4,730 crore in Q1 FY24. Profit after tax (PAT) also saw an 11.5% decline to ₹571 crore, compared to ₹645 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Notably, the firm recorded an exceptional gain of ₹13 crore. During the quarter, Ambuja Cements entered into a binding agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Penna Cement Industries Limited (PCIL) for an enterprise value of ₹10.422 crore. PCIL, with a total capacity of 14 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), has 10 MTPA operational, with the rest under construction across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan. The transaction is set to be effective upon the execution of the Share Purchase Agreement and fulfillment of all conditions, with closure expected by the second quarter of FY25. Ambuja Cements Limited Cements, part of the diversified #Adani Portfolio, has announced an #investment of Rs 1,600 crore to establish a 6 MTPA #cement grinding unit in #Bihar. 𝗞𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶 𝗝𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁(𝗝𝗦𝗪 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗) In Ankola, Uttara Kannada district, the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce has expressed happiness over the establishment of a greenfield commercial port by JSW Infrastructure Limited, owned by Sajjan Jindal. The port, established to boost export activities along the southeastern and southwestern parts of South India, is located between Mangalore and Madgaon in Goa. This port is an estimated ₹𝟰,𝟭𝟭𝟵 crore project, with a promise to complete the work within 5 years. The port will be used for unloading coal, coke, and will progressively handle the transportation of iron ore, limestone, and dolomite. The port at Ankola will be further facilitated due to the Konkan Railway passing through. Additionally, this port will be more beneficial for regions in North Karnataka and Kalyana Karnataka, including Bellary, Hospet, Hubli, and Kalaburagi. Karnataka's ports handle 4.5% of the country's cargo, but by 2035, they'll handle 117 million metric tons. 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗶’𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗷𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹 Ambuja Cements, an Adani Enterprises subsidiary since 2022, struck an agreement to acquire 100% shares of Penna Cements Industries Ltd (PCIL) in a deal worth ₹10,422 crores ($1.2B). Penna Cements has a 14 Million Tonnes per Annum (MTPA) capacity of which 10 MTPA is operational and the remaining is under construction at two sites in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, which are set to be completed within 6-12 months. The deal will increase Ambuja’s cement capacity to 89 MTPA and keep them on track to hit 140 MTPA by 2028. The deal has been valued at around $90 per tonne and increases Ambuja’s market share in the country by 2% and in south India by 8%. The news moved markets today as Ambuja’s stock rose whilst those of some of its closest competitors in the cement space, such as KCP Ltd, NCL Industries Ltd and Dalmia Bharat Ltd pulled back. #nse #bse #nifty #sensex #investing #trading #markets #stocks
