What an incredible evening at Minds on AI! This amazing group dove deep into Bayesian Oracles and AI safety. As Co-president, I couldn’t be prouder of the energy and brainpower in the room! Huge thanks to Narmeen Oozeer for presenting that fascinating paper! You made this mind-bending paper on Bayesian approaches to safer AI systems both insightful and quite accessible. Some thought-provoking topics we explored: - How Bayesian Oracles could help align AI with human values (sci-fi is getting way too real for comfort 🤣) - The challenges of setting up these systems (turns out choosing priors, and updating them is not as simple as it sounds) - Striking the balance between cautiousness and effectiveness (we want our models to act, not overthink). What I love about our club is how we tackle these complex ideas together—no question is too basic, and every voice adds value.
