Welcome to this week’s #TuneUpTuesday, where Kim Harris and I are diving deeper into our November series on Meaning. We’re thrilled to continue our conversation with the insightful Michelle Hollingshead, author of The Meaning Indicator, as we explore how challenges, especially those encountered in our work, contribute to a sense of purpose. In last week’s discussion, Michelle shared that her research revealed challenge as the primary source of meaning for many people. She introduced two distinct types of challenges: adversity, where life throws unexpected obstacles our way, and aspiration, where we seek out challenges to push ourselves forward. This week, we’ll focus on the intersection of challenge and work. For many of us, the daily demands and occasional setbacks of our careers can either feel overwhelming or, with the right perspective, offer powerful opportunities for growth and deeper meaning. Michelle will share strategies on how we can transform these work-related challenges into catalysts for personal and professional growth. Tune in to learn more about how adversity and aspiration in the workplace can be reoriented toward purpose, helping leaders, teams, and individuals find fulfillment and resilience. #TuneUpTuesday #MeaningIndicator #ChallengeAndGrowth #LeadershipJourney

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." - Carl Jung At P&G Advisors, we truly believe in the power of self-awareness to unlock your potential and drive business growth. By identifying and addressing the unconscious biases and habits that shape our decisions, we can take control of our destiny and achieve greater success. For instance, a business owner might unknowingly prioritize short-term gains over long-term sustainability due to underlying fears of financial instability. By bringing this unconscious bias to light, they can shift their focus to strategic planning and sustainable growth. Another example could be a leader who micromanages their team because of an unconscious lack of trust. By recognizing this pattern, they can work on building trust and fostering a more autonomous and empowered team. What unconscious patterns have you uncovered in your professional journey, and how have you addressed them? Share your experiences in the comments below! #SelfAwareness #BusinessGrowth #Inspiration #PGAdvisors #LeadershipDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #ProfitandGrowth

How often do you take a moment to pause and celebrate success while running and leading your business? It might not get much of a look-in amidst innovating, focusing on future business growth and leading the team. However, I'd like to invite you to consider creating a regular practice of celebrating success, no matter how big or small, because it is a great way to recognise where you and your team have come from and what you’ve achieved. Not only that, but it boosts team morale and brings a sense of satisfaction, especially during tough times, which so many are going through right now. At Imagine Beyond, we make sure to acknowledge and document our successes, and this is now the story of our journey. I am so deeply proud to look back on this and excited to envision the future moving forward. Recognition can often be understated, but it's a powerful tool that significantly boosts engagement, productivity, performance, and satisfaction. Not only in your team but also in yourself. And it doesn't cost a penny! Let's also not forget about the neuroscience... because celebrating success impacts you at a biological level. It releases dopamine, the feel-good neurotransmitter that increases motivation and productivity. In a group setting, it triggers the release of oxytocin, which fosters feelings of trust, connection, and collaboration, leading to stronger team dynamics - and who wouldn't value that? 😍 What success are you celebrating this week? I’d love to hear in the comments below. #Leadership #PauseAndReflect #FounderJourney #Recognition Image: created by GenAI.

"You’re being too kind; it will be a roadblock to climbing the corporate ladder." That remark once left me puzzled and introspective. What does that even mean!? 😨 A couple of years ago, for a meeting with management, I noticed a significant mistake on a slide from another team. Instead of waiting for the meeting and theatrically highlighting it to grab attention (wink, wink), I opted to address it directly with the person and resolve it promptly. 👉Fast forward to today: Thanks to Dorle Feldmeier-Seuss, Jonas Schmid and the insightful workshop during our Future Lab program at Giesecke+Devrient I discovered that CONNECTEDNESS is one of my strengths. We are responsible for our judgments and possess free will, but we’re also part of something larger. Some call it collective or universal consciousness; others may label it as spirit, life force, or creation. This sense of connectedness implies that if we are part of a larger picture, we must not harm others because we will be harming ourselves. Be kind :) and see humans not just as employees or team members but as individuals bringing their stories and life battles to the office. Let’s see beyond the surface level.🙌 #Leadership #Connectedness #Kindness #TeamWork #CorporateCulture

In a world full of opinions, credibility comes from those who've actually walked the path they're talking about. Company culture is not words on the wall. It's how people feel on a Sunday night. I love this quote from Simon Sinek "Customers will never love a Company until the employees love it first" Research confirms that The 100 BEST COMPANIES to work for beat the market by 3.36X (FTSE Russell) So how do you cultivate an environment for culture to thrive? Here are 6 components to encourage us in today’s environment: 1. #Principles ↳ Start with a set of 3-5 core values ↳ Define key behaviors for each ↳ "Encourage quiet people to speak" vs. "Inclusion" 2. #Systems ↳ Audit process and technologies ↳ Change any to encourage using principles ↳ Want people to be ok with failure? Reward it. 3. #Stories ↳ Capture examples, actual behaviors ↳ Write them as stories to exemplify principles ↳"Jack saw his team struggle and he stayed to help" 4. #Lexicon ↳ Collect phrases that are unique ↳ Use them to live the principles, start from leadership ↳ Netflix uses "sunshining" to air a mistake 5. #Traditions ↳ How does the company purpose come to life? ↳ Create an event people can participate (not required) ↳ Nasa has an annual pumpkin carving contest! 6. #Artifacts ↳ The most easy to spot and most tangible ↳ What can be a physical embodiment of a principle? ↳ Medtronic gives mission medallions to each employee When #WE cultivate a #culture people can #thrive in, #ourteams and company will thrive. P.S. #Share this to help your network cultivate culture! Follow me, Jason Lavrack for more like this.

AMA Lightbulb Moment 💡 Keynote: Mastering Gentelligence®️: Understanding & Leveraging Generational Diversity in the Workplace with Megan Gerhardt, Ph.D. This morning, Professor Megan Gerhardt highlighted the importance of “Gentelligence” — an approach to harnessing generational diversity in the workplace. Her insights challenged us to go beyond assumptions and actively engage across age groups. As Megan put it, “When you try to put people in a box, they disengage.” This resonates with the need for more meaningful intergenerational conversations. Allowing generational conflict or neglecting the unique contributions of each generation can be a costly mistake. Respect, connection, competency, and autonomy aren’t just ideals; they’re essential needs across all generations. Are we taking time to truly understand these experiential norms, or are we unintentionally limiting our teams by keeping our heads buried in the sand when it comes to understanding others? #AMAHigherEd #Gentelligence #GenerationalDiversity #IntergenerationalTeams #HigherEd

𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬. 𝐀𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬. I can relate—after finishing school, I was quite reserved myself. I preferred the quiet corners, reflecting and observing from a distance. But today, people know me as someone who loves to network and hear people’s stories. However, my own journey from introvert to extrovert wasn’t as simple as flipping a switch. It took time, patience, and the right environment to thrive socially. And this has shaped the way I now approach leadership. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒔, 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒆𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔. Many of the introverts on my team are deep thinkers, constantly analyzing and bringing unique perspectives to the table. But in a fast-paced, noisy workplace, their voices can easily be overlooked if we aren’t intentional about including them. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐈 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰: ▹ I set up smaller, focused group meetings where everyone has space to speak. ▹ I actively seek out their opinions and give them the time to think before answering. ▹ I encourage them to share their ideas through emails or one-on-one conversations if that’s their preference. ▹ I recognize their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, ensuring they’re valued in the decision-making process. ▹ I ensure there are quiet spaces in the office where they can focus or recharge when needed. 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. As leaders, it’s essential that we create spaces where these deep thinkers can share their insights and make an impact. I’ve seen firsthand how much value introverts bring to my team, and I’m committed to fostering an environment that supports every personality type. #Leadership #IntrovertsInTheWorkplace #TeamInclusion #WorkforceDiversity #Empowerment #AayushSinghRawat #CambridgeCourtWorldSchool #CriticalThinking
