Automation within recruitment isn't bad, it's necessary. Before everyone gets upset, hear me out. Is automation appropriate for every communication, obviously not. Are there times when personalized, verbal or written communication should be the standard? Of course. With those disclaimers out of the way, I firmly believe that a high touch candidate processes that can be repeatable and scalable requires intentional and thoughtful uses of automation. Documents like interview preparation, process updates and content created for the purpose of continued candidate engagement are all great additions to the candidate experience but without making them repeatable, they will fall by the wayside when work gets busy. If we begin to focus our conversations on how to increase the quality of our automation and prioritize being intentional in its use, rather than the narrative that all automation within the recruitment process is bad, I think we may actually be able to create positive change. #candidateexperience
