My Journey in Business Development! 😅 When I first started in business development, I faced my share of setbacks. From missed targets to lost deals, it was challenging not to see failure as a roadblock. But over time, I’ve learned that each setback holds a valuable lesson. Lesson 1: It’s Not About Selling; It’s About Solving Problems Early on, I realized that pushing products didn’t resonate. Instead, showing genuine interest in understanding my clients' challenges changed the game. Once you shift your mindset to problem-solving, sales become a natural outcome. Lesson 2: Relationships Are Everything I can’t stress this enough. A solid relationship is more valuable than a single closed deal. I started focusing more on delivering value through every interaction, even when it didn’t lead to immediate sales. And guess what? Those clients came back, bringing referrals with them! Lesson 3: Adapt and Innovate Markets change, and so do client expectations. I learned the hard way that what worked last year might not work now. Staying curious, embracing new tools, and refining strategies have kept me ahead of the curve. Here are three key lessons that have stuck with me: 1. Curiosity creates connections 🤝 Every successful conversation begins with genuine curiosity. By asking the right questions and truly listening, I’ve learned to uncover deeper insights and build trust. Understanding the why behind a prospect’s needs is what turns a simple pitch into a meaningful relationship. 2.
