WHOOPS! Before hiring a Realtor to represent what is typically your single largest investment, please consider what I refer to as the "ICEBERG ANALOGY". It's simple and effective and it refers to the fact that most icebergs look alike from the surface but beneath sea level there are vast differences in size and shape, etc... This is no different than looking at Realtors and assuming that they are 'all the same'. The reality is, you MUST put them to the test by asking about their tenure, their performance record, their education and ongoing training, their marketing, their ability to successfully negotiate great outcomes, communication skills, listening skills... you get the idea. Don't neglect to put the effort in up front and be sure that you are working closely with a 'Professional' and not a 'Licensee'- the outcome will cost you thousands and untold stress and frustration!
