Have you ever been unhappy looking at your colleague smiling? I have! I was in the process of closing a sale with a couple who had come into our showroom looking for a 520d MSport. My colleague came over with a massive smile on his face and said "I've just sold that!" I don't think I've ever seen a man so happy. You see, this was the second 520d MSport that I was about to close with the same couple only to have it sold. Here's how it unfolded; "I have one 520d MSport left. It's in our other branch. Let me show you on the website here." I pulled up the car. "We said we don't like white but, we'll take it!' What just happened here? I learned some very important lessons that day. 1. I don't always like to see my colleagues happy. 2. The scarcity principle is an extremely powerful motivator in sales. The couple did not want to lose out on their third 520d MSport and bought the car. Luckily when I brought the car up, they loved it. #sales #scarcityprinciple #salescoach
