American Influencer Council (aic)’s Post

For Real? Yesterday, the Germany National Tourist Board (GNTB) introduced Emma, an AI-generated avatar brand ambassador for the country created to encourage travel within Germany. According to Suzanne Rowan Kelleher, a staff writer for Forbes, “Travelers and content creators have flocked to Emma’s Instagram feed to share their disbelief and anger. ‘I’m sorry, but nobody wants to watch a fake AI person in a fake AI version of Germany for travel tips or inspiration,’ wrote one user. Another posted, ‘Please use real people with real passion for Germany.’” https://lnkd.in/gBdUeJ67   Influencer marketing, like so many industries that rely on non-technical skilled workers, must be prepared for both AI job loss and job creation. A March 2023 study by Goldman Sachs, The Potentially Large Effects of Artificial Intelligence on Economic Growth (Briggs/Kodnani), states, “In both the US and Europe, we find that roughly two-thirds of current jobs are exposed to some degree of AI automation, and that generative AI could substitute up to one-fourth of current work… AI could expose the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs to automation.”   Brands, are you exploring AI avatars and AI chat bots as replacements or additions to your talent pool?
