Now in its third and final phase, the programme switches focus to Client Solutions, targeting startups with innovations that aid consumers in their decarbonization journey, and support the shift to electric mobility and solar energy generation. Reflect, a California-based startup, is set to transform the renewable energy landscape by launching a constellation of satellites designed to reflect sunlight onto solar farms after dark. Ben Nowack and Tristan Semmelhack made this real with more refined and technologically advanced. This innovative approach, coined "selling sunlight," aims to address the intermittency of solar power by providing additional energy during peak demand times, specifically before sunrise and after sunset. The inaugural edition of the EnergyLab Decarb Debrief has launched, revealing that $124 million was raised by Australian EnergyLab startups in 2023!! 🚨🎉 2023 was a massive year for EnergyLab. Our startup alumni raised a huge $289 million, with an incredible $124 million of that coming from Australian-based startups! Not only that, we more than doubled our climate tech programs, grew our internal team, and brought 67 startups through our program offerings. Here is a list of a few notable startups: 1️⃣ ZeroAvia 🇺🇸 🔹 A developer of hydrogen-powered airplane engines. 🔹 The Hollister, California-based company announced last week that it completed an extension round that brings its Series C to $150 million.  🔹 The Scottish National Investment Bank joined as the newest investor, as ZeroAvia pursues a manufacturing facility in Scotland. 2️⃣ LONGi Hydrogen Energy 🇨🇳 🔹 From China -is a provider of large-scale green hydrogen equipment and solutions.Raised $137,923,425. 3️⃣ Hysata 🇦🇺 🔹 This Australian startup develops hydrogen electrolyzers aimed at advancing the global transition from fossil fuels to green hydrogen. 🔹 Raised $110M in a financing co-led by bp Ventures and Templewater. 4️⃣ Koloma 🇺🇸 🔹 Denver-based Koloma, which focuses on identifying and commercializing geologic hydrogen resources, closed on the largest early-stage round for the space, landing $246 million in a Series B led by Khosla Ventures. 5️⃣ Brineworks 🇳🇱 🔹From Amsterdam, this startups saltwater electrolyser's high-efficiency design allows for industry-leading CO2 extraction while also creating green hydrogen. 🔹 Raised $2,203,153. 6️⃣ PuriFire Energy 🇬🇧 🔹 From Cambridge, this startup is pioneering green hydrogen and bio-methanol production. 🔹 Raised $3,699,339. 7️⃣ Tree Energy Solutions TES 🇧🇪 🔹 This Belgium startup specializes in solar panels and wind turbines that produce green hydrogen in the sunniest and windiest places. 🔹 Raised $247,880,566.
