When I worked at Rutgers University, there was no shortage of stories to tell. I was able to successfully pitch a couple of these stories, one of my favorites being a story about a student-founded, ride-sharing shuttle service for refugees that earned placement on CNN. It had elements of a great story and we found the right outlet to tell it. But what are the elements of a great story? And how do you find the reporter who will want to tell it? Some strategies for figuring all that out in the blog!
A college campus is ripe with stories and good ones at that. But how do you find these stories? And how do you get the media to pick them up? Learn tips from Angelica Flynn, APR, Associate Vice President on the #AKCGTeam. https://lnkd.in/eEH5JdEn

🌟 Successful Completion of the Summer School on the Burden of Risk Factors! 🌟 We are thrilled to share that we have successfully concluded last week's Summer School on the Burden of Risk Factors! 🎉 This intensive program brought together a dynamic group of professionals, researchers, and students from public health and related fields to explore and master the key concepts of risk factor burden assessment, health impact assessment, and knowledge translation. 🎓 Over the course of three comprehensive modules, participants delved into: * Risk Factors: Understanding the foundational concepts of burden of disease and gaining hands-on experience with comparative risk assessment. * Health Impact Assessment: Learning to assess potential health impacts of different policies and translating these assessments into meaningful data on the burden of disease. * Knowledge Translation: Exploring how to effectively communicate and apply findings to stakeholders, ensuring that research leads to impactful change. Each module blended theory with practical exercises, sparking insightful discussions and fostering collaboration among participants. It was inspiring to witness the engagement and dedication of everyone involved. A big thank you to all participants, instructors, and organizers who made this summer school a great success.
