🚀 My Adventure in Marrakech! 🚀 Urban Bykch 🚲🔋☀️🇳🇱🇲🇦 A few months ago, I started a startup in Marrakech, and I must say that it has been an amazing experience so far. No regrets at all, in fact, I couldn't have made a better decision. At my startup, I rent out fatbikes (and yes it is up to 250 watts) to both local residents and tourists. This provides a sustainable and quick way to explore the beautiful city of Marrakech. With nearly a million residents and a huge influx of tourists, Marrakech is comparable to Amsterdam in terms of population density and bustle. However, Marrakech still lags behind in terms of mobility solutions. The government has plans to make the center of Marrakech car-free and only accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. As an entrepreneur, tourist, and resident, I see this as a positive development. The CO2 emissions from old mopeds and cars are harmful to both people and animals. My entrepreneurial journey in Marrakech has not been without challenges. The slow pace and bureaucracy in obtaining permits, the work mentality, and the mindset regarding mission and vision were hurdles I had to overcome. But those who know me, know that I persevere like a pitbull and go to the extremes. Persistence and self-confidence are not lacking. Starting a business in Morocco is absolutely hard work, especially in the initial phase. But once through that phase, it is a relief. Besides earning a decent income, Morocco offers many opportunities, especially for the Moroccan diaspora. I now collaborate with various hotels and riads, and I have even received requests from other cities in Morocco. I want to help my homeland with my knowledge and experience and address certain issues that have both social and spatial elements.
