🌟 More about Nature Based Solutions! We are collaborating with the URWAN - Urban Regenerative Water Avant-garde(N) Project, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. 🌍💧 We are providing support to MedCities / MedCités, along with the project partners and pilot initiatives, to develop Work Package 4 (WP4): the URWAN Amplification Strategy. This project is all about demonstrating the transformative power of collaboration to build resilient and sustainable urban environments. We live in an increasingly urban world, where cities are not just places we inhabit—they are the engines driving our future. Today, more than half of the global population lives in cities, and by 2050, this number is expected to reach a staggering 70%. Cities are at the crossroads of the most pressing global challenges, like climate change, but they also hold the key to pioneering solutions. Cities are constantly evolving to meet the shifting needs and demands of their residents. However, with this rapid change comes the challenge of delivering services effectively and efficiently on a larger scale. The answer lies in innovation—finding new ways to make urban life not just livable, but thriving for all. As our cities grow and new ones are built, sustainable urbanization becomes essential. This is where the "Partnerships for Sustainable Cities" Programme, funded by the European Union, steps in. Since 2019, with 57 worldwide partnerships, this programme has created a powerful platform for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and strategies to tackle urban challenges together. Hosted by the AMB, this gathering brought together over 100 representatives from cities worldwide, all united by a common goal: to build a more sustainable urban future.
