I agree with Gartner completely on this subject. "GenAI initiatives" should evolve to include "Knowledge Graphs." In my book "Data Engineering Best Practices" (https://lnkd.in/eYc7ZiXp) I put a lot of emphasis on the engineering needed to curate a semantic knowledge base leveraging knowledge graph concepts and tooling. I also address how to integrate the graph into GenAI projects using RAG and prompt engineering. I even go further and present the challenges in GenAI efforts to feedback changes into the the knowledge graph so that the AI outcomes support reasoning, inference and the evolution of true-facts rather than false-facts. Generative AI is an exciting area! Current GenAI scaling law is losing its charm!  That is saying, models with ever more parameters trained on ever larger data using ever larger compute, do not necessarily scale as anticipated! More recently though, the focus has shifted to enhancing prediction accuracies through computation (and additional costs) at inference time. This technique modifies the scale law while helping LLMs march towards higher intelligence. Noteworthy is that the training data to support inference benefits from being closed domain, for improved accuracy and rapid convergence. On the other hand, domain specific knowledge graphs deployed today, effectively guardrail LLMs to accurate answers in an explainable way, and cost efficiently. Another time en route. Nothing exactly new, as together with Datarabbit 🐰 team we’re often sharing our knowledge and insights about data-driven solutions and AI on different events, both technical and business ones. But this time will be a little special still – as the next 3 days I will be spending at Karpacz 🏔️ at the Economic Forum.
