🎯 3 Tips for Transitioning to a Full-Service Agency When you’re a full-service agency, clients will use you for more services (which will bring in more revenue), they’ll stay with you longer (because now their entire business relies on you), and you’ll be the trusted expert they can come to with any need, which is extremely valuable 1. Finding great partners Partnerships are the key to fulfilling the extra services you’ll be offering, and unless you want to spend years learning how to be a great designer, copywriter, developer, marketer, or optimization expert, you’re going to need great partners. 2. Start thinking of growth holistically At the beginning of the client relationship, think about what will grow their business the most effectively. For example, our proposals usually include 4 or 5 phases. The first is typically building a website or making changes to their existing site, the second one may be an optimization service, the third one is typically growing their traffic through SEO or Paid ads, and then usually comes more optimization, analytics, and reporting. And why do we have so many phases? Because business owners will need these services, shouldn’t you be the one to offer them to them? 3. Rebrand yourself as full-service When I say this, I don’t mean change your website to a “Full-Service agency”. Rather, add links to your website under a tab called Additional Services for the new offerings you’d like to offer. Post a message on your LinkedIn or other social media announcing that you’ve partnered with a company to help offer marketing or design, or development. How good is your positioning statement? Does it describe what you do susinctly and in a way that either a 12 year old or your grandmother can understand? The majority of agencies focus on the services that they deliver - web development - video - content - SEO etc. This is not positioning them or differentiating them, in-fact it is putting them in the sea of sameness. It always come from the problem you solve and who you solve it for. If you are solving problems you are providing value. Every marketing agency tells you they’re going to bring you results, but what they don’t tell you is this… Back in the day, knowing how to run Facebook Ads or any other new tool could win you easy clients, and it was all fun. Nowadays, things have changed a lot. You have to put in hard work and sweat over results. When you prove your product and reach revenue that can be reinvested to delegate your marketing tasks, things get a bit complicated. I see, on a daily basis, posted in groups, founders searching for marketing agencies. Freelancers and agencies swarm the comment section. Everybody will tell you that they can help you, and everything will be AWESOME. What they don’t tell you is that they could take your project as a “cashflow” project. This means they stick around, investing the bare minimum in order to keep you satisfied just so they can get a monthly fee. I disapprove of this totally. Every business should have people invested in their projects, so everyone can be satisfied in the end. (capitalism, right?) I’ve heard stories of agencies saying, after the first talk, “Ah-ha, I know what you need.” Then they went back to their cave, did some work, and asked for a review. After getting a negative review, they repeated this again and again. Instead of sitting down with the founder to find out what’s burning, they just assume. Nobody takes the time to really understand a business, and this is wrong on so many levels. But if you choose to be meaningful and really help businesses outside, it can be a game-changer. This is why every time I onboard a new client, I sit with them, listen actively, and am genuinely interested in solving their problem. This is the only way I believe in. If you’re tired of quick fixes and are looking for someone who genuinely cares about your business, let’s talk. I'm looking for a new client starting next month.
