Read this if you are a newbie struggling to get gigs on LinkedIn. (It will save you time and effort) I came across Karimah's post on Monday, and I couldn't look away, just because of you. Her post spoke about how she rejected a $2000 gig on Upwork because they wanted her to change her LinkedIn interface to theirs. I know that's wild for you, but for me, I'll call that experience relatable because I had the same experience, and mine was right here on LinkedIn. As of that time, I had posted consistently from June to December, and I hadn't gotten any gigs on LinkedIn. I invested my: - Time - Effort - Knowledge - And many more Just to keep showing up on a platform where others celebrate their gigs every day, and I kept waiting for my time. Until I got a DM from my ideal client profile; he loves what I'm doing on LinkedIn, and he scheduled a call with me. You needed to see me that day; I was the happiest person in the whole world at that moment until we had our call, and this man wanted me to work for his brand as: - An intern - Who will not get paid - Who will constantly repost the company's page on her profile and I also tag them in my personal post (because I constantly get good engagement) It wasn't hard to figure out what he wanted: visibility for his brand. But at what cost = me not getting paid because he wants me to work for them as an intern. The lie he sold to me ("I love to help Africans") It wasn''t hard for me to tell him no right on the call because I had been doing social media management for 2 years before I finally came on LinkedIn. So, I understand what works and what doesn't, and I have paid my dues (I have done internships in the past). I have been in your shoes; I showed up for 6 months, consistently talking about my craft without getting a single client. Lessons to draw as a newbie: 1. Consistency is key. 2. Stay authentic and patient. 3. Quality engagement matters. 4. Don't be desperate; know your worth. 5. Don't sacrifice your brand for "exposure." 6. Be clear about your services and boundaries. 7. Don't rule out the place of internship if you are a total newbie but be wise in your decision making Share your thoughts in the comments. ♻️ Repost this to help others if it's resonate with you PS: I help founders and startups grow their online presence and brand on LinkedIn.

The POINT here is that, NO now doesn't mean No forever. No here doesn't mean No everywhere (it means go somewhere else) Don't let anyone PUSH you to do what's not (You personal brand is a goldmine). It's not a game of 3 days and it's what will still pay you way more than what anyone is offering you now. Just be patient, stay consistent and put in your effort. You'll get there very soon 👋:-)
Na wa oooo Some people too do oooo😩😩😩😂😂😂😂 What in the actual "buy fish pie" was the man offering? All in the name of helping Africans God abegggg 😂😂😂🤲 I celebrate Grace Afolashade Adamson (née Azeez)
Can you tag these freebie seekers? Let's show them what we've got.
I don't work for free, this is what I do instead - If I really want to work with you, I lead with a freebie (this is anything that I know the person would find useful, half of the time, it's Questions and Tips) - If we hop on a call or you ask if you can 'test', I give you a 30-50% off the normal price for 2 weeks (sometimes I'll let you pay 50% instead of 100% the discounted price before we begin the collaboration)
The saying I like helping Africans is quite funny 😂 Afolashade Adamson (née Azeez) Consistency is key for success here in LinkedIn
Very relatable Afolashade Adamson (née Azeez) Had similar experience here on this blue app. "Working for me will boost your CV" My "no" was very kind and polite, yet firm and solid. Generosity without clear understanding of who you are and what you're worth will lead to abuse of your expertise. Takers never stop taking unless you set a boundary.
I help you find your brand's voice, uniqueness, and visibility through a tailored social media strategy~ Social Media Manager
