Spreading some holiday magic! 🎁 ✨ Last week, employees from across AffiniPay came together to volunteer with Partnerships for Children—some helped shop for holiday gifts, while others pitched in on-site to make the season extra special. Those who know her, know that Mulberry's Liebie Du Plessis is a very enthusiastic supporter of Santa Shoebox Project, often encouraging clients, friends, and family to join in on a cause that brings so much joy to children in need during the festive season. Her love for this initiative runs deep — it's been more than 11 years, still going strong... even delivering shoeboxes to rural drop-offs on the way her wedding in the Western Cape when it was needed there! 💰 How we choose to spend our money is a form of activism. The by-product of Black Friday: 🛍️ 80% Black Friday purchases get thrown away 👎 52% shoppers regret their purchases from Black Friday a week later 🗑️ Black Friday creates 1.5 million tonnes of waste in the UK, each year Shop with purpose, stock up on the good stuff, and help make a real difference. For Belazu, Foundation Friday isn't about flash sales and driving overconsumption, it's about continuing to do the right thing and helping to make a real difference to the communities in our local area and throughout our supply chain through the Belazu Foundation. *stats from Business Waste
This Friday, we’re giving back. Will you join us? For the fifth year running, we’ll be opting for Foundation Friday. Every penny of profit from purchases made on our website will go straight to the Belazu Foundation. For over two decades, the Foundation has been working with communities in our local area and throughout our supply chain to promote education and healthy eating, to inspire future generations. Shop with purpose, stock up on the good stuff, and help make a real difference. *Purchases made on 29/11/24 through https://belazu.com/ #BlackFriday #TheBelazuFoundation #Community #GiveBack

For five years we have hosted some type of Christmas giveaway for the community. Year 3 we provided over 1k kids with gifts and their parents with household goods. I didn’t sleep well at night until I knew that every kid would receive a gift. After year 3 because of all of the problems we had with attendees I decided that we would go to a more meaningful giveaway that provided our families with an elegant setting where they could dress up, eat together and family sponsors could sit at the tables with families they sponsored and give gifts. The gala is strictly for families who have participated in any of our programs during the year. We don’t receive funding for this event we have to fundraise and seek sponsors. We are stepping it up this year with a different venue and an even better experience for our families. I still have some families who need a sponsor. If you or your business are looking to make a difference for someone this holiday season please sign up. Our outreach team will be matching families to sponsors all week and providing lists for sponsors to shop for. You still have time to be matched with a family. Each list has a need and a want for the children and we encourage the purchase of some household goods for the parents, though it’s not necessary. My favorite part is that all sponsors have the opportunity to join us at the gala and present gifts to the family they sponsored. Interested in being a sponsor leave me a message or complete the link in the comments. #intervention #prevention #arkansas

We're ending the week with a pair of opportunities that are still open with Five Counties Children's Centre. One is urgent, so please take a look. Five Counties Children's Centre was founded by Rotary members who saw a need for a close clinic where children with disabilities could get treatment and therapy without parents/ caregivers driving to Toronto. Nearly 50 years later, the client list is in the six-thousands, with over 2000 wait-listed . With numbers like that, you can see how fundraising events are very important. Their Backyard Summer Social is coming up on the 22nd and they need help with set-up, operations, and tear-down. Because it's an adult-oriented event, the volunteers must be over 19 yrs old. The event is in the backyard of the centre, and accessible by public transit. And there will be snacks! We'll give you the event recruitment link right now so that you can contact Maddie: https://buff.ly/3Vge4XH If you're more of a sit-down-and-chat kind of person (or are busy on the 22nd) there is also a need for Donation Thankyou Callers. It's pretty much as described. People send money to Five Counties and bi-weekly for a couple of hours, you call those nice people back to thank them for that very important donation. And if you're unable to afford a donation yourself, this is a way you can contribute more than money. It's a remote opportunity and time-flexible. You will need a basic police check for this one, NOT the Vulnerable sector screening. This listing is on our Opportunities page. Five Counties is a vital part of our community, especially for anyone who has a disabled child in their care. Supports for these children help them thrive and grow, and shatter barriers themselves. See how you can help today. #CommunityBuilding #Inclusion #FUNdraising #ThankYou #SummerFun

Celebrate your achievements - big or small. Every victory matters; it signifies progress and sets the stage for future success. Here's what we can celebrate: → completed a major task early → successfully followed a budget → achieved this week's sales goals → received a thank you from a client → volunteered at a community food drive → connected with a new industry contact → mastered a new app to streamline tasks → enjoyed a rejuvenating long hike with a friend → resolved a complex issue that was a headache Take a moment to reflect on your recent achievements. How will you celebrate them? #MentalHealthAwareness #SmallWins

🎥 Take a quick moment to watch this powerful 1-minute video about Grassroots Grocery’s Deliver Double campaign for Giving Tuesday! Learn how you can make double the impact this season. 💚 #GivingTuesday #DeliverDouble #GrassrootsGrocery
This Giving Tuesday, I'm in awe of what we've built together at Grassroots Grocery—and even more excited about where we're headed. What started in my classroom as a middle school teacher in the Bronx has grown into something extraordinary. Every Saturday, in an empty parking lot in the Bronx, something magical happens. Neighbors show up for neighbors. Families show up for families. Volunteers, old and new, work shoulder to shoulder — moving 15,000 pounds of fresh produce to 1,500 households in Harlem and the Bronx — all before lunch. It's not just about the food—it's about the connections, the joy, and the power of a community united by one simple idea: neighbors helping neighbors. The need is growing, and so must we. Only one in four of our food insecure neighbors can access the help that’s available to them. That's why we're launching our boldest plan yet: the Deliver Double Campaign: 🚛 Double the produce. 🚗 Double the drivers. 🤝 Double the community reach. And thanks to $125,000 in matching funds, every single dollar you give until the ball drops will go twice as far to fuel this movement. Check out this video to see the magic in action—and help us Deliver Double for New York City. To every volunteer, every donor, every neighbor who's been part of this journey: thank you. Whether you've joined a Produce Party with your family, group, or school, or participated in a corporate sandwich race, this is your story too.
