A repeat of 2020 - 2022 for #NatGas? https://lnkd.in/d2M9TW-g It made me wonder what people might be missing if they simple used Spreadsheets in their market analysis. 1) You couldn't simulate the entire natural gas market comprehensively. This means you might miss out on detailed insights into production, transportation, storage, and sales dynamics. 2) It could be difficult to handle anything more than basic scenario analysis. If you need flexibility and ease in creating and comparing multiple complex scenarios, you will need a more sophisticate tool. Otherwise, this limits your ability to explore a wide range of market conditions and their impacts. 3) Spreadsheets can become opaque and difficult to manage as they grow in complexity. You need a way to manage data and assumptions transparently, while allowing customization. 4) To accurately model complex market dynamics, you will need more sophisticated computational algorithms that encompass the many interrelationships to ensure reliable and robust forecasts--and this includes the ability to generate accurate long-term forecasts, especially over periods extending to several decades. RBAC, Inc. created GPCM® Market Simulator for North American Gas and LNG™ (Gas Pipeline Competition Model) in 1997; it is designed to simulate the entire #naturalgas market, including production, transportation, storage, and sales. This holistic approach allows for an accurate and detailed market analysis. 1) GPCM enables users to create custom scenarios and import their own assumptions. This flexibility allows analysts to explore a wide range of market conditions and their potential impacts. 2) The model’s database is fully transparent, allowing users to input their proprietary data and assumptions. This transparency ensures that the results are understandable and can be tailored to specific needs. 3) GPCM uses sophisticated algorithms to handle complex market dynamics, which would be difficult to replicate in a spreadsheet. This results in more reliable and robust forecasts. 4) GPCM can generate forecasts for periods ranging from several months to 30 years, providing valuable insights for long-term planning and strategy. 5) RBAC continually updates GPCM to reflect the latest market conditions and user needs, ensuring that the tool remains relevant and effective. These features make GPCM a powerful tool for natural gas market analysis, offering capabilities far beyond what traditional spreadsheet models can provide. Let's make better energy decisions.
