There are over 300,000 miles of highways and railroad tracks in the United States that help people and goods get from one destination to another – that distance is the equivalent of traveling around the Earth’s equator 12 times! Imagine if we could use those same highway and railroad networks to transport clean, reliable and affordable power across regions? Building transmission lines – a.k.a. large power lines – along some of these routes offers a way to deliver clean power from areas where it’s plentiful, like solar farms in the southwest or wind farms in the midwest, to the areas around the country that need it. Plus, building along these existing routes reduces impacts to the environment, rather than breaking new ground. Participate in the NH Stream Crossing Replacement Prioritization Survey For the past two years, the University of New Hampshire, in partnership with the New Hampshire Stream Crossing Initiative, has been learning about stream crossing management in New Hampshire and the challenges that practitioners face every day from climate change to aging infrastructure to limited resources (to name a few). They have produced a survey to understand various stakeholders' preferences on stream crossing replacement prioritization. The insights gathered will help inform a decision support tool that aims to find “win-win” solutions that meet broader stakeholder needs. In this survey, you are asked to rate the importance of several overarching goals and their evaluation criteria related to the replacement of stream crossing structures in New Hampshire.  By offering your expertise and feedback, you have the opportunity to shape the future of stream crossing policies and management practices in New Hampshire.
